I'll let this picture say it all. We see not one problem here, but two. The red arrow indicates player movement.

Honestly I just think you just did a really good job baiting... but yeah, unguided missiles vs phase should probably be no go. A salvo of Harpoons there could have seriously messed you up, given how high your flux was.

It's not just missiles & torpedoes, though it's certainly more obvious when there are 5 reapers involved. The AI speculatively unloads everything at phased ships, without any apparent regard for the opportunity cost or probability of success. Not a problem for PD/tactical lasers, but it can easily mean the big guns are on cooldown/flux capped when the phase ship actually does unphase.

I can be wrong but torpedoes must run out of fuel just before onslaught back. Nice bait regardless of outcome.

I wasn't baiting, just pure dumb luck.

Imagine my sadness when several of my own Spark squads came to 'help out' and cleared all the Reapers before they reached the Onslaught.
