The hitbox for phase mines that is. I don't know if these work with the same outline as the damage model does, but you can't put phase mines close to these big buggers. The game will do strange things if you try.

The X is where I set the mines. The two mines to the south is where they appeared.

Edit: Dunno if I put it in Suggestions on purpose or if someone moved it.. I think this should be under Bugs?

Quite a lot of things work based on collision radius, which is afaik usually close to shield radius. How close you can teleport/skim/put mines included. This does leads to a lot wonky stuff with big, not circular ships.

I didn't move it, but imo this is where it ought to be in any case :) Stuff that teleports generally looks for an open space if the area it's being aimed at is too crowded.

I think the really far-off location the mines ended up at is less a function of the Atlas 2 itself and more the entire area being rather crowded; it probably tried a couple of other spots closer to it and they failed the "too crowded" test as well.

Makes sense. But something is definitely off still. Even trying to place mines ~100-200 units behind the Atlas Mk.II engines (where the shield bubble is very close to the model) will place mines all around the Atlas, often 500 units or further away. There is room there but the game thinks otherwise.

This is in contrast to other ships where you can place precision strikes. I.e. behind a Mule, or behind a Prometheus. Right between the engines! With most of the ships, placement very close to the shield bubble is possible.

Hmm, yeah. Took another look and made some tweaks; should  be much better now - it looks at the shield center/radius instead of the collision center/radius; also works for unshielded ships.
