Non-refitable Battlestations?

So I've read some people can passively modify the weapons that battlestations have based on tech salvaged. Is there a reason why one can't just refit it like you would a ship? I can see how it could be overpowered, and there are already types of battlestations, but maybe make it an endgame feature or require some hoops to go through?

I suppose in the same line as why we can't specifically dictate what our faction uses for it's fleets is the problem.

I'd love to set preferred hull mods however for our factions forces, that could be cool if we all have the same hull mods across the fleet!

It would be nice if priority from ships and battlestations are separate.  I may not want lances on ships that are not Paragons, but I want my high-tech battlestation to always use Tachyon Lances (if I have them) because it devastates fleets at long range with them.
