A very interesting AI Paragon loadout.
« on: January 24, 2019, 06:10:21 AM »

Spoiler
[close]

Got a bounty, recovered the ship, and that's how it was.

Now, I haven't tested it in an actual fight and didn't pay too much attention when I was fighting it, but if both cores stack it would be pretty ridiculous.

Not using any mods that alter vanilla variants or create new ones.

Edit: Just making sure it's clear: With the Advanced Targeting Core, it's impossible to install either DTC or ITU, but this Paragon had it installed for some reason. If I remove it, I can't install it back so it's working as intended, but I can easily keep it and make use of what appears to be a bug.

If they stacked, you may have a battlestation killer.  Just outrange and kill them!

All Paragons are battlestation killers anyways. You may not be able to outrange them, but you can just turn on fortress shield at the appropriate time and move back till out of range.

If Paragon gets outranged (by too many guns), then it is only a matter of time before Paragon loses to attrition, especially against full-power Remnant Nexus.

Alex already knows IIRC. I think it is a bug with the autofit, which the AI uses to fit its ships

Welp, finally got enough money to restore it, and as soon as I did that, the DTC disappeared. :-\ Apparently it rechecks for incompatibilities when you add or remove mods.

Then in your case you simply haven't turn on fortress shield at the appropriate time and move back till out of range. I know it can because I've done it solo plenty of times before before. Perhaps with appropriate fleet skills, but even so there's nothing stop you from having escorting vessels to protect the paragon retreating anyways. Personally I think battlestation range is ridiculous, probably because Paragon range is ridiculous but that's probably a discussion for another time.

I do wonder if the AI Paragon does get extra range from both range hullmods. If it does then it seems strange, and if it doesn't then it shouldn't be wasting OP.
