Blueprint packs
« on: November 22, 2018, 08:24:08 AM »

So I didn't find a low tech blueprint pack yet, but the midline one gives Heron and Falcon. On the other hand high tech pack has only Apogee from cruisers, and it's not even a combat ship. Now, I understand not including capitals there but at least we could have an Aurora. From my understanding Aurora is a high tech line cruiser, not some ultra rare ship like Doom. Now it just feels like we get a high tech Venture with Shrike and Wolf...

Low tech has Dominator.  It is a good package.

Forgot to mention it has Mora too.  Unfortunately, it does not have dual flak.

Just taking a quick look there only seems to be 3 High-Tech Cruisers to choose from:
-Apogee (High tech package)
-Aurora
-Doom

For Mid-Line there is quite a bit more ships to choose from, but the Eagle and Gryphon aren't part of that package.

I think the reason there isn't many ships in the High-tech package is just because there aren't as many high-tech ships; if the high-tech package included the Aurora, there would only be the Doom cruiser blueprint to find in that ship size class.

I guess you could swap the Apogee out for the Aurora, but perhaps the thinking was that since you are likely exposed to this ship earlier (if you do the advanced start for example), then it might feel less rewarding to obtain a blueprint for a single ship you have already seen vs one that you haven't (or likely haven't).

On another note, I think the Apogee still makes for an decent combat cruiser, even after the change in the two medium weapon arcs.  It's got better shields than the Aurora and 2 large slots (energy & missile) and it makes a formidable anti-fighter platform with a Locust SRM launcher.

Has anyone ever bought blueprints from a market?

I don't think I've ever even seen one for sale, although I wasn't actively searching for them (or even docking at non-player markets frequently) and presumably they're only found in the military submarket where you need favorable or better standing to even look.

Nope, never (had TT commission for quite a while).

Ones you sold to the market remain there forever though.

I've seen weapon blueprints. But never a ship.

Same, I don't know...is it possible to get blueprints from the market?

@Arcanestomper I didn't realize you could even get the weapon blueprints from the market...cheers for sharing that bit of info!

On another note I would love to see them as a possible mission rewards; once I had enough money from establishing my colonies, there wasn't really any reason to look into bounties or those bar missions since I wasn't lacking for money....but if I was offered the Doom blueprints as a reward, I'd be willing to take on dangerous bounties (multiple ones if required), or do several huge trading runs to get that.

Blueprints are stupidly hard to come by.

I played .9 for like 20-30 and I didn't see a single Aurora for the whole time, not even in fleets. It's my favorite ship too so I'm pretty sad about that.

Wish I had found at least the blueprint by now.
