Blacklisting of designs for fleet auto-detachments
« on: November 21, 2018, 12:18:50 PM »

Regardless of priorities in "Ship hulls" list my colony main Detachment fleets can have hound frigates in them - preview of detachment chooses wolf as it is only priority selected frigate in 20+ "re-generate" presses so how this hounds arrived for patrol duty? No matter the reasons this must have better control than just priority. Maybe fleet size control compels AI to add multiple cheap ships still 1 wolf is better than 2 hounds.

Pretty sure the hounds are there in a "combat freighter" role, that is, if they weren't there, the fleet would have some civilian freighters instead. They're not taking the place of combat ships.

Can AI be tweaked to select tarsus or buffalo instead? Hounds as freighters presumably will be deployed by AI in combat as it is listed as warship in hulls.

While I would like to see a slightly more nuanced priority system, I do have to ask: what happens if you deliberately prioritize, say, Mudskippers?  Would you then see those instead of hounds?

Wyvern is 100% correct about the math.

No mudskippers but dram tankers instead. Must be a rare thing - all patrols spawned with additional wolfs/drams. After a bit testing i have found it is only one single hyperspace detachment which uses hounds/kites and ignores priority settings - all others obey it.

A toggle to ban the use of a specific weapon/fighter/ship would be nice to end the annoyance of your auto fleets from using mining pods or rolling with trash ships/weapons. Being able to prioritize or blacklist hull mods would also be very nice since I believe the AI factions have hull mod weighting already.

Blacklisting would be more flexible. If I am not too sure what direction I want fleets to take, it's far easier to gradually specify the ships I don't want, than to select all the ones I do want.

This would be even more of a things as more mods get updated and needing to filter through several times more ships/weapons.

Yes, I support this idea.

I've got lots of blueprints, but somehow no matter how much stuff I prioritize, my patrols still sneak in a useless Pather Colossus or two into their ranks, just because I've used the LP blueprint pack (the first BP pack I've ever found).

Alex actually said Colossus, Venture and similar ships don't count as ''combat'' ships so your fleet will still have the same number of pure combat ships. It's just the thing they're haulers deployed in combat that's confusing people.
