how to plot a conquest
« on: January 16, 2018, 05:06:27 AM »

how do you guys actually plot the conquest? when you are doing broad side the shield is facing where your mouse is pointing but you can't point to the side cause then you ship will turn with you there for you lose the broad side, so how do you aim your cannons broad side while keeping your shield on the side and not turn the ship XD

You can hold the turn to cursor button (shift by default?) to stop that, so you can broadside and still have the shield at the side.

I simply use forward, back, rotate, and strafing for movement.  I do not use any of the movement keys that rely on cursor position.  I move the cursor at my target so that I can aim guns at it and have shields up to block incoming shots.

Yep, as Megas described.
I also rarely control it's turrets manually - there are just no weapons on Conquest that would require manual control to same degree as Onslaught's TPCs, for example. Which leaves cursor just for shields and 'R' target marking.

What I meant about aiming guns at it, was target marking.  But, yes, that step is not strictly necessary.
