added an artillery cannon, it is a ballistic counterpart to tachyon lances. Has long range and shoot a guided shell that have many hitpoints and usually point defense can't stop it. Has high fragmentation damage output but also high flux cost and limited ammo. Like tachyon lances alone don't do much but in long range a group of this can destroy cruisers
YES YES YES! ballistic love for the ballistic god! I'd love more long range large cannons between the 1k-5k range, lets have battleships engaging each other far before they enter traditional weapons ranges! I hope you factored in shields for the ammo cost, its silly to impose limits on the ballistic equivalent of the tachyon lance without considering the massive benefits the tachyon lance will always have over any competition.
I'd also love to see a lance type weapon that engaged at 2-3k ranges and required a build up before firing, long refire rate but if it hits your shields it causes massive flux buildup. An anti capitalship weapon that made turtle ships with strong shields fear.
