Is this the thread where we post our horribly abusive loadouts? Cool.
http://imgur.com/a/vVuWEFrom my BRDY save:
Karkinos: 3 HILs force the AI to keep their shields up all of the time even if they'd rather not, 6 HVDs make them overload, all at 1000 base range. A mobile gun platform that tears down anything destroyer size or larger. I'm pretty sure this is why there are no ships that allow mounting both medium ballistics and large energies in vanilla aside from the Paragon. The relative lack of PD and the Kark's low shield coverage means this ship needs an escort; that's what the Maelstrom loadout is for.
Maelstrom: 8 Dart SRMs and the built-in Micro Missile Array are an overwhelming amount of small homing missile firepower, not for anyone playing on a toaster. Backed up by Light Needlers, Sunfires, and a Ferrocannon, this thing clears the screen of all fighters, frigates, or destroyers that dare to come near it, and kills cruisers pretty darn quickly too. A loadout designed to escort and protect the mobile gun platform that is my Kark from anything that tries to flank it.
From my Tritach save:
Paragon: Vanilla high-tech ships benefit a lot from using modded weaponry, as vanilla energy weaponry has several gaping holes in its coverage. The Wavepulse Cannon is the generalist weapon large energy slots were missing, and putting them on the Paragon's side turret slots gives it 360 degree coverage of what's basically an inferior Mjollnir Cannon. Heavy Needlers help it bring down shields quickly, and 2 Deva CAS beams in the front hardpoints let it tear through any armor in the game with 8000 burst HE damage. Micro Argus PD, Chaingang CEPCs, and Dart SRMs deal with missiles, fighters, frigates, and basically anything the Wavepulses aren't able to reliably hit.
Doom: AM blasters and Reapers are still very good. Triple Energy Blasters substitute for the Heavy Blasters I'd use in vanilla, so the Doom can fire forever while uncloaked without driving up its flux. They've got less DPS, sure, but they're just as bursty and don't risk soft-locking the Doom.
