Better fleet management during combat

I hope some one had mentioned this, and I really hope we could have something like this in the near future, maybe with a mod? Right now we could only overview the status of the ship by pressing G to open the deploy window, also we could not issue any command with the deploy window.

The closest thing we currently have is the Combat Chatter mod.

Not as straightforward as this screenshot, but still pretty invaluable for fleet managing in battle. I too, hope that Alex will eventually implement something like that in an official release.

I found the combat radar to be more helpful than the combat chatter mod. More often than not when one of your ships starts taking hull damage, it is already doomed.
