Is there a way to give up a comission

I've got a comission with the Independents and it is messing up my reputation with everyone else. Any way to give it up?

IIRC the only way to give up a commission is to lower your rep with your commissioned faction, so do things they don't like, either stay friendly with their enemies, start attacking them ( this will lower you to hostile!) fly with your transponder off in their space, smuggle goods to the black markets, trade with their enemies. The important thing is to get CAUGHT doing these things.

Just remember, when you agree to a commission you are signing into their military, essentially you are flying with their colors, not yours.
