Your ship does not retreat from battle and it is not possible to disable the ability.

Gonna just hide my amazement that we never hear of this bug until last weekend, and now three different ships from three different mods have had it reported within a week of each other.  :o

Are you using the latest version of the game? There was a vanilla bug relating to ships with toggle-based engine-boost systems, which was supposed to have been fixed in the most recent hotfix.

It was in RC6 version, maybe that was it. I'll update, if it happens again I'll let you know.

Really enjoyed my stint in the Diable Avionics navy!

Wanzers.  So lovely to have battle mechs.  The Ravens especially earned their pay.

My final DA command was in a Maelstrom...what that ship did with a single Uhlan Siege Laser and the flicker core.  I'm also really surprised at how good it is to have a pair of squadrons locally available to fend off pesky flanking frigates or to thin out bombers.  This ship is a perfect execution of the battle carrier concept.  Fragile but deadly, and independent.

Unfortunately I couldn't stomach the maintenance cost of a Pandemonium, much as I was really, really wanting one.

And how about DA battlestations with their triple Uhlan emplacements.  Hoo boy.

The biggest challenge with having an all DA fleet for me was the support auxiliaries.  I went a long time searching for Prometheus and Atlas ships once I started reaching near the 30 ship limit.

Requests for a future DA update:

1.  Adjust high maintenance for the Pandemonium.  Pretty please!
2.  Ion weapon specialist Wanzers.  Ion resistant Wanzers.  Engine disabling Wanzers.
3.  A selective fire anti-missile:  it auto-launches only against high DPS heavy missiles (Atropos, Hammer, Reaper, Trebuchet etc.)

1: no.
2: Since the blizzaia feels a bit underwhelming, that's probably an idea to explore for an upgrade.
3: The magicbox is cheap, small and very good already. If you want a smarter anti-missile, you'll have to look for Scy's medium-sized solution.

What happened to the Gust? Didn't it use to be a sort of spinal-offset Thermal Pulse Cannon cruiser? Or was that some unlisted variant that isn't in the codex? It's been a while since I've played so maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sad if I'm remembering right and it's no longer in the mod.

It's had a significant overhaul. The Gust I believe has lost the !TPC, but now has a system that allows the player to take direct control of its fighter wing. I believe there's also a destroyer-sized "Pocket Gust" somewhere, which is basically a downscaled version of it. Can't recall if it uses the same system.

Pirate woes, round two:





As you can see, Diable is not hostile to pirates and won't hand out bounties for pirate kills, yet pirates are the reason for both the bounty notice and the stability decrease.

That's the normal game behavior, you can get that with your own colonies when allied to pirates. They don't attack DA convoys but independent ones.

Something that I was always curious about but what the heck is the versant exactly? The text says it's a "hybrid" so ostensibly the twisted offspring of a wanzer and frigate, so i guess my question is it more of a frigate than a wanzer or vice versa?

looking at the sprite, it obviously has a head and the 2 harvests are kind of limb like, but does it have legs like the smaller wanzers? Or is it more of a mobile armor kinda thing, like from that gundam show

Wanzers in space are clearly too OP, as they avoid the greatest weakness of wanzers: a man in an orange jumpsuit with a pistol tanking a cannon shell to the face and firing back, ejecting the pilot.

Love this mod so much. I'm a little confused on how the wanzer gantry ability works; does it speed replacement of the first couple fighters to die, or entire wings? Does it count each bay seperately? My inner min maxer wants to know if I get more out of it with a raven in a single bay or if two bays of frosts benefit just as much.

The Versant is probably my new favourite ship. So much fun to pilot, checks all the boxes; it's faster than phase frigates, has 360 shields to ignore salamanders, and a ton of bursty dps dead ahead. And it looks awesome.

The Vapor tends to explode like any other frigate when I leave it in the hands of an officer, but as a player driven SO super frigate, it's unreal. 2x light machine gun, 1x heavy machine gun and 1x assault chaingun with overpower the shield/flux on even most cruisers. The special ability can be used to phase backwards through a salamander or to just drop shields to vent flux and go back in, so you get to spend most of your time gunning things down instead of dancing with salamanders. Easily the most cost effective ship I can find in the early game, one of these can handle a small low tech station solo, or a small fleet of pirates. If I could buy a variant that had triple the maintenance/purchase costs and all the same stats except longer deployment time, I'd happily pay it just so I could spend more time flying it without having to retreat constantly.

I'm 90% sure that said ship only appears as an International Bounty Board spawn, which requires the Ship/Weapon Pack mod.

Otherwise? You could just get the latest dev release of the Console Commands mod and spawn it manually.
