Hello, the last time I played SS was about a year ago and with a handful of mods I was able to start a campaign with DA as my faction. I'm pretty sure until Nexerelin is updated for 0.9.0a I can't do this, so I've resorted to downloading all the older versions of all the mods I used previously to get my Diable faction start going with 0.8.1a, but I just can't get it to work. These are the mods I have so far:

Diable works just fine in game, I can spawn their ships in the simulator, and I can start a game as BYD for my faction, but DA doesn't show up in the list of available factions and I can't figure it out. I think I might just have the wrong version of DA but I can't tell, I had to sift through the thread and use the search to find an older version.

Not sure if bug or not, but I keep running into system patrols in Sivie that peg for "suspicious cargo" but doesn't say what they found. As far as I am aware the faction doesn't list any illegal goods.

Older version of mods together with newer ones won't work either in 0.9 or 0.8.1.

It can happen on some mobile devices but I never heard of an issue on desktop/laptop

They can still confiscate regular cargo that was aquired on the black market.

NEW "hot"Fix available: Removes the positive relation with pirates due to the constant disruptions, and fixed the Gust system.

Do you know which DA version would work with the latest Nex version? I've downloaded 4 or 5 different versions and none of them work for what I'm trying to do. I'm able to use and play with DA ships in the missions and simulators, I just can't get a faction start to happen.

All versions from 1.83 to 1.94 work with 0.8.1. It's your other mods I'm not so sure about.

I finally got it to work with 1.89 only to see that the Gust light cruiser doesn't have it's big built in cannon anymore, so I'm pretty disappointed.

edit: After 12 years I was able to edit the necessary data files to get older version of the Gust back in the game

its not completely ready for 0.9a yet. it was just udated to a usable state. but not all things 0.9a are implemented yet.. such as blueprints. look for that in possibly the next update.

You won't be able to refit fighters and bombers at all. They're designed/balanced around having a particular set of weapons and would be very broken if you could change it. Which ones you pick for your fleet -out of quite a few that are available- is the choice here, not how they're outfitted.

I was just about to ask the same, I know you can spawn in the tech pack with the console, but I haven't seen a legit BP yet.

They do spawn, but only rarely from research stations. Future versions will have better drops.

Polished update that properly integrates the new 0.9 mechanics, including proper blueprint drops. The only outstanding missing feature are the custom Battlestations, but those will take some time to be operational (although FlashFrozen is already working on their sprites).

This update should not break your save but you will only see most of the benefits when starting a new campaign.

 - Dampened Weapon Mounts hullmod:
   . Can now drop and be learned.

 - Cramped Hull hullmod now also incompatible with most new logistic hullmods.
