Starsector 0.97a is out! (02/02/24); New blog post: Simulator Enhancements (03/13/24)
Quoteso people who despise immersion,Immersion is a blanket buzzword that doesn't really mean anything. Good ideas have good reasons behind them. Simply calling it "immersive" doesn't score any points.
Tariffs are high for a deliberate gameplay reason. Making all your money on peaceful trade defeats the main attraction of the game, which is space ships getting in each other's face and punching each other. You can still make excellent trade money through smuggling and piracy, however those methods are deliberately meant to draw you into conflict. Conflict draws spaceships into punching each other, which is good. Peaceful trade avoids ships punching each other, which is bad. You pay a premium to avoid battle, and are not meant to profit that way.
In terms of gameplay mechanics, the tariff system does effectively accomplish what it sets out to do. The story lore could certainly be tuned up though. Calling it a "tariff" doesn't quite explain why the price tag is so high and why everyone has it and why it sucks so bad. The fluff should create a setting where it makes sense that the player struggles to do honest trade.
It would be stupidly boring to make ''grab a crapload of items from point A then sell it at point B'' profitable. There are trading games for that.
Congrats, it's not every day I see somebody dismantle their own argument.
Prototype release: Three missions as an appetizer.
Uauuuuuuuu !!! Magnificent this video presentation. Looking forward to testing. Congratulations!!!!
Hey boss, got an error when launching and found that you've got two potraits entries (or whatever) in your ora.faction file.
I've crammed them into the one and the game launches fine now. I'll attach my fix for you should you wish to use it.
UPDATE!
Somebody decided this mod was balanced enough to include in a tournament, apparently - god knows what they must have been smoking.
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
As i understand, you have to first use the command - list items
As a result you will get a list of itens in your game. By your screenshot you already got this part. On this list there is the name of the item you are searching, assuming you did install the mod beforehand. (as example i can see in your screenshot the hmi_crystal from the HMI mod)
I don't know the name you are searching, but lets assume it's energy_crystal, then you will type
additem energy_crystal 10 - (the syntax is additem nameofitem amount)
to add 10 units of this item.
Hope this can help you
I did what you said, but the command was not recognized. type in quotation marks as I should type there in Console Commands. Please.
The console right there suggests what you did wrong: you typed "additems" instead of "additem." No quotation marks.

Noooooosssa !!!! Really! Thank you Origenem !!!!
Does anyone have Chinese version 0.9.1 to pass via PM, please
The current mod version is 0.7.5RC2 which works for Starsector 0.9.1a, the front post is updated with the newest editions of the Chinese version.
The more I play the game, the more I see the Core Worlds as a small dot in the Sector. Why? Because I reach out and explore the surrounding regions within the first few moments of gameplay and come back. I want to see a big divide between the core worlds and what's out there to explore. When I add in all the mods, the Hegemony, Persean League, and the Tri-Tachyons all feel very underwhelming. I understand that is the Vanilla game, but in the end, I feel that these major factions are just regular factions and that the Sindrian Dicktat and Luddic Church are minor. In other words, I don't feel the presence of a big faction.
One of the ideas I had in mind was expand the amount of systems the game offers by default and emphasize the might of the Hegemony and scale up other factions. I know modders build their world around Vanilla (and I know some don't) but I can see this as a way to justify why and how the Hegemony rules with an iron fist.
