Partial auto-pilot would help with this. Some ship is too bloody fast or clunky to control by yourself so let the AI pilot it and you fire it weapons would be nice.

They abandoned a large part of their fleet to get farther on the fuel they had - what happens when you have a big fleet and try to get rid of ships? You end up with excess crew. Turn excess crew into fuel and you can go far!

But seriously, they must have spaced a whole load of people when they cut down the size of their fleet. Even the player isn't evil enough to do that.

This reminded me of Sunless Sea. . .turning people into fuel.

For some ships and builds the shield is so much of a detriment I'd pay OP just to get rid of it. I'd love to have the opposite of makeshift shield gens as an option in vanilla.

This mod has a shield bypass hullmod. It disable the ship shield and increase flux dissipate by 50% of the original value.

P.S.  It would be nice if earnings was consistent.  Either all XP and loot is given, or only XP and loot from rounds won are earned.  XP always earned but loot only earned from rounds won is inconsistent.  After all, if the enemy took the loot from a round lost, then player comes back for the next round and kills them all in a final battle, the enemy should cough up the loot they scarfed up just like they do for XP.

The player not getting salvage from "retreated" rounds is actually a bug; already fixed in the dev build.

Oh. . .but it make sense if player not going to get salvage because he retreated from the battle. Maybe leave a debris field on it?

Afflictor is great for Quantum Disruptor followed by alpha strike shenanigans with AM Blaster or torpedoes.  They can easily punch above their weight or assist other ships.  If you do not have a capital, an Afflictor may be useful for wrecking that enemy capital that might wipe out your fleet.

I try to keep one in my endgame fleet, especially if I do not have a Hyperion.

Both Afflictor and Shade do best at annoying the crap out of bigger ship. Just don't let them hit you or you will phase forever. AI like to waste their flux trying to shoot phasing ship too, so even if you can't move it to flank or find viable target, just phase it through their fleet is enough to screw with them.

You need to take your burn speed, supplies and fuel consumption into account too. Atlas work best with short route until you get +5 burn speed from skill. I never use Atlas to do trading before. It seem to work best at hauling my loot around.

Check the independent market. They seem to sell everything but pretty random. You only need to be on good relationship with them. Black Market work too.

If your enemy has capital or two, don't engage them at the middle. Setup a defensive or rally point around where your spawn since some capital is so slow. Until it crawl to you, you get to decimate all of their smaller ship first. Capital is powerful but without any escort, it just become one big punching bag. Sometime, enemy just don't deploy them outright because he might has big fleet. If you push them to their deployment zone, you get surprise close range capital kiss when they deploy it which might end up kill one or two of your ship.

Assign them a rally point far behind battleline work for that. Else they just run in and die.

Yeah Gryphon as an AI is dumb. It trying to get into PD range if you equip them one. It work for me when i play it myself. I wish we could set a minimum engagement range for each ship.

You only need to visit them once to know what are they having in their market. Price won't update until recent visit or bug the comm relay.

You're going to need some Carrier soon or thing get real bad when Mora or Astral showing up. Having carrier doing PD job for your fleet free your ship to kit out more firepower to kicking more arse.

Afflictor usage getting less and less when both me and enemy fleet starting to deploy half of fleet as capital. Also, it is hopeless when fighter wing just camp out for you. Once your flux run out then you are doom. At lease with Shade EMP, it fry every missile and fighter around it. Even if the AM and Reaper ran out, it still has EMP to be useful to the fleet. Once i got Shade, i sold all of my Afflictor. High-tech fleet pretty much health hazard for lightly armored Phase ship due to beam hit you with perfect accuracy. Capital especially Paragon eat Afflictor alive and no way AM can get pass Fortress shield. Onslaugh for some reason, love to has Devastator cannon at their rare, so even if you get behind them, it instant gib you the moment you come out of phase. Shade get more use to me when Astral becoming norm to enemy fleet. 6 Wings of fighters? Say no more since Shade can fry all of them in the same time. Also, it is sadistic to perma-stun some ship with it.
