Modding / [0.95a] Chaos Galaxy Portrait Pack
« on: June 17, 2020, 04:24:40 AM »
By courtesy of Han Zhiyu, who allowed us to use portraits from his newest game Chaos Galaxy, I created this portrait pack containing 61 image. And what a wonder! In this pack there is actually considerable more male officers than space waifus. It's also have some robot faces.

Rar achive with original in-game portraits, sent to me by Han Zhiyu, sorted by belonging to Chaos Galaxy factions

I resized and cropped this images when necessary, and added portraits to some of vanilla factions (Hegemony, Diktat, Tri-Tachion, Luddic Path, Pirates), and made all of them available for Persean League, Independent and Player.

Thanks again to Han Zhiyu for images, Vajra for his guide, and no thanks for me for constantly forgetting adding a comma at the end of the line.
It's all fixed now, don't worry.

Both mod and original images can be used as forum avatars here (although cropped images from the mod is somewhat better for it since they are either 128x128 or 256x256). They also can be used in other Starsector mods so long as you properly credit Han Zhiyu. That man is deserving some recognition.

Edit: Updated for 0.95a

Modding / Re: [0.9.1a] Aerial Combat Suit

Cool, the more Mecha-Suits mods we have, the better.

Taking a shot in the dark, is there logic that's looping over combat results every tick after the first battle happens for the session? Like a report in intel that's being calculated every tick or something?

I don't think so, I only had problems in battles themselves. This stuff keeps track of too many things. Althought having battle history too long (and it is too long by default, 50 battles if I remember right) makes saving ridiculously long.

Great mod, but performance degradation in big battles are too noticeable. Especially if I use it with SpeedUp mod.
Is there a way to have "lite" version which only track the kill-count of individual ships?

Heya! Fantastic mod in every way except one aspect - the combining of AI cores and ships. The idea on it's own it's fantastic in my opinion, but it was very underwhelming when I realized it didn't do anything other than making it not require any skeleton crew, especially with the disadvantages it brings. An AI core when chucked into a planet admin position grants lots of new perks along with the AI, combining ships and cores comparatively is more of a waste to use as it is. I was hoping you'd be willing to consider changing this aspect up, ideally I'd love to see the AI cores instead become the ship's officer, similar to the [REDACTED] ships, along with the perks that high level officers have.
Not everbody even playing with planet mechanics. Or expand too much with it.

Ive noticed that the planets stations build themselves up, traits and facilities can I purchase these if I run my own faction?
Nope. Not in this verion, at least. They ever generated on start or they are dynamic and depends on events in current solar system. You can control second type a little, but you can't build anything at all. Most that you can is summon fleet.

8
I presume that I would have to own the station myself, as opposed to a faction or faction that I have a commission with?

It's absolutely didn't matter so long that it's not your enemies. You just need to pay 5k to unlock storage on this planet/station.

I'm really enjoying this mod's mechanics, but I can't help but feel that mining just isn't good enough to make up for the supply consumption. Are there ships/weapons I could use to help out with that?

Most helpfull thing that you can do - storage your battlefleet on some station while you going to mining.
Also, quick-help for mining can be found on first page

Somebody knows where i can change number of officers generated in galaxy known sector in this mod? I playing with all compatible mods aside of Citadel and they are VERY rare. And i really prefer to play with them from near the start, instead of using AI module from this helpfull Autonomous Ships mod by hqz. Too bad i can't just capture and torture into submission or buy loyality of some enemy officers  :'(
