The Robberfly-class Corvette, a 3fp frigate without a shield, fast and with a highly efficient flare launcher.

Played with Uomoz + Freespace 2. I havent really found any other interesting mods to use with. :P

Edit: oh yea and the fleet control ofc. :D

Hey all,
today I'm off to play Axis and Allies with a few mates. (I won't be replying to any threads later)
For those of you who haven't played it, it's basically a TBS board game sit in WWII, starting in roughly 1942. (some versions start earlier and others start later) You can play as UK, Russia, America (Allies) or Germany, Japan (Axis) there are other factions in other games (i.e., when the Pacific and European boards come together, you get the ANZACs, Chinese, Italians and French)
All in all, I find it quite fun, albeit perplexing at times.
People who have played it before, who's your favorite country? WHat's a good strategy, and what's complete rubbish? (never build 2 battleships as Russia. It doesn't end well.)

Well, i see many of my ships as "prices" for fighting the Valkyrians, you can buy all the Mk I versions, but if you want their stronger models, you have to capture them pretty much.. i consider that a decent reward to the player, fight a strong faction = get rewarded.

You don't, the Shivans use masses of Sathanas juggernauts to push stars into supernova.

Aye. The shivans used the SJ sathanas only twice to destroy ships hostile to them. :D And that was to destroy a single ship.  But hey in freespace 2 bombers were used to destroy those beam turrets AND that ships is slow as ****. It isnt a fighter jet in terms of turning or acceleration. You could just out manouver it and evade those beams by attacking from the sides or the rear... but since you have AI controlling your other ships they will probably attack it head on. :D

Erf, tier 2 sux donkey balls.

More enclosed maps just emphasise how horribly imbalanced the homing AoE torpedoes are.

Game needs some balancing work doing to it.

Well it is still in BETA and the version is 0.7.8 something... they just introduced a new game mode a few days ago.

Edit2: Wait for the shivans to be done. Atleast the SJ sathanas... it hurts. :D it has 4 very big red beams on it's front and each beam has a yield equilevant to approx 125 GT (Gigatons of TNT) per pulse. When I click that link i'm suddenly reminded of reapers...

The correct thing to say would be that the reapers look like the shivans. Descent: Freespace was made in 1998 where the shivans first appeared. :D

Like i said the beams are dangerous! 1 pulse of a single beam has the same destructive force as 10312500 Little boy bombs (You know the one that the americans used to bomb the japanese?)

@EnderNerdcore i'm still working on those turret sprites... dont expect anything untill next weekend earliest. XD I'm building and scrapping turrets faster than knights can say "Ni!"
