mouse and keyboard, i usually turn toward them and stay focused toward them with the mouse on them and using shift. Last time i used the wolf i had just the standard loadout, the one the campaign gives you.
i lost an odyssey that had an autopulse laser, high frequency laser, a mix of tactical and burst PD lasers.  ( couldn't find a weapon for the right side so i slapped on a heavy blaster )

This game is amazing,  but out of all the kinds of ships i find the high tech ships like the wolf, apogee and others like them very strange to fly. I die repeatedly trying to figure them out, and usually end up allying with the Hegemony, buying a falcon and cramming my fleet with whatever else is lying around.
I've heard of people soloing cruisers in a wolf... and i have problems fighting a lasher in a wolf. anyone got any good tips? i like the ships the Tri-Tachyons fly but i cant use em fer nothin   :P

i have managed to capture a Doom class, tried to board an apogee but it self destructed and blew up one of my enforcers >.>

fighters seem to be pretty uncommon, at least in my games so far. id like to know this too, maybe its by Cycle? i think the factions buy their own ships they have for sale, so if you are not there they just snag it and you don't get it. Happened to me at least, i went to buy a hammerhead at Jangala station and realized i didn't have the money for it, i came back when i did and it was gone  ???

Some of the rarer ships you might have to capture, but i don't really know.

after a battle, i selected what loot i wanted and hit "G" the hotkey for the confirm and continue button, but after that if i try to open the map, fleet, char. buttons etc, it doesn't show even though the game thinks its being shown, ( it pauses the game and i have to hit esc to "close" the invisible whatever. ) if i hover over an enemy fleet it doesn't show ships either.

Closing the game fixes it, but it comes back after a battle.

I certainly like it better than getting a battle-cruiser fully operational within an hour of gameplay  ::)

today i learned if they catch you using a comm sniffer twice, there is no mercy. i tried to save my cerberus by staying behind in a hound, but they got all our engines and we both died  :'(

* do you know if pirates hate you if you trade on their black market? 30% tariffs are mean

The feeling when the only thing saving you from dying to that one talon fighter is the shield, and the talon is trying to go for my unprotected engines  :o

I have had my fair share of near death encounters in Starsector, but i have learned my lesson about fuel in Hyperspace.  ;)
