Although no longer used on any vanilla ship since the Ox class tug had it replaced with 'Drive field stabilizer' I assume the hullmod 'Monofilament tow cable' still exists in the vanilla files somewhere and is being used by, and this problem seen with, at least two mods.

When you hover over the hullmod in the refit screen to open the infobox, the box is far too thin with some sections of text having a single letter per row. Screenshot attached.


(I believe that this is a vanilla bug that you just can’t see without a relevant mod installed and so should be posted here, if it would be better in the modded support board then feel free to move it)

Okay, I just googled to double check and 'monofilament tow cable' is an old vanilla hullmod that the Ox class tug used to have until it was replaced with 'Drive field stabilizer', and some mods are re-adding ships that use it. In that case I guess that something isn't set up right about the hullmod in vanilla but only visible if a mod adds a way to see it. I'll go raise it in general support forum.

Edit: this is caused by the Myriad from Stinger shipyards when under A.I. control.
Edit2: For some reason NexusMods gave me Stinger shipyards 5.0.0 when I downloaded it despite the most recent version being 6.7.0. Issue resolved after updating to the latest version.

I've just started playing with a new mod list and the game crashed while in (Nexrelins?) arcade mode. The error was 'Fatal:reservewing]', screenshot attached. My modlist is:

I've just started playing with this mod and unfortunately noticed a minor problem with this mod. The infobox that opens when you hover over the monofilament tow cable hullmod on the Castellan class is to thin, to the point where some parts of the text are one letter per row. Image attached.

Some somewhat less conventional ideas; All Hyperion for the most killy-nes per hull size/sensor profile?

Or possibly “stealthy” as in a perfectly normal pirate fleet with perfectly normal pirates in perfectly normal pirate ships, definitely not the stupidly rich fuel baron Keyser Söze. (Surprise! It was me all along! And I have all the technology and leadership skills!)

Ahem. Well, there’s a lot to talk about there but one that caught my eye was:

  • When the ship is overloaded or venting, the raise shields/phase cloak command will be buffered if it was issued within 0.2 seconds of the overload/vent ending

I’ve discovered this feature as part of the QoL pack mod and it immediately became my favourite feature, I’m glad to hear that I’ll never have to worry about playing without it again. My question however is that I notice this only mentions venting and overload; is it possible for this to also apply to after system activation and/or phase coil cooldown?

Also, this:

  • Added Planetkiller and "Hostile Activity" related mission

I would like more details about this.

Hello, firstly thank you for the mod! Despite what how long the rest of this post ended up might imply I really like it, it means I actually use S-mods rather than hoarding my story points like a dragon and refusing to do anything with them.

I have however encounter one somewhat exploit-y mod interaction between this mod and Automated Commands (or anything that adds zero-OP cost hull mods). This mod allows you to add a zero OP S-mod for zero cost, befitting from guaranteed recovery for S-mod ships and presumably +5% max CR per hull mod from the hull restoration skill. Particularly useful with Luddic enhancement to save my Prometheus (IED) after it does its thing.

An obvious solution to this would be to hide zero OP hull mods in the list of available hull mods, that would also solve the minor complaint that with Automated Commands and Commissioned Crews I have quite a few zero cost hull mods cluttering up my list that I would like to hide.

Two more minor utilities that would be nice are; an option in the 'manage S-mods' dialog to list all ships with an open S-mod slot and how much XP they have so I don't have to check them one by one and a (config?) option to change the sorting of S-mods from alphabetical to by cost as that's how I'm used to organising them in the refit screen.

First thought: An improvised Orion drive? Improvised by literal luddites? That doesn’t sound like it’s anywhere near a good idea.

Second thoughts: AHHHHHHH! So many new things! I can’t wait! (Ahem.) At first glance I’m concerned that some of them sound a bit “I’m not sure what to do, so let’s just slap a gimmick on it and call it good”, particularly the IR autolance and Energy Bolt Coherer. But I’m not the one who has designed an amazing game up till now, so I think I can trust you to continue to do so.

As a possible compromise for the Lion’s guard hulls, what if they get solar shielding installed at half cost with the ‘special modification’ costing OP to make bring it to full cost? That way in Lion’s Guard hands the ship is as currently described but if the played buys/captures it and really wants to they can restore it to get a fancy skin with solar shielding at half off.

One very small suggestion; could you mention in the first post and in the “auto scavenge is turned on/off” message that auto-scavenge is an ability you need to add to your hotbar and toggle. It only took me two minutes to tab back to this thread and work that out myself, but it may be some useful idiot proofing.

When does the forced removal of the “permeant” effects take place? i.e. if I want to swap my skills from phase ship to carrier skills do I go through that dialogue (and lose stuff) when I press the reassign button or after I have re-spent my points and re-brought the skills (therefore to no effect)?

In the Coatl bar I found “the lieutenant I met at the Galatia academy”, took him up on the offer of a pint, chose the smile and nod option but when I tried to take a look around the bar I got the mentioned error “IllegalStateException sys.star must not be null” without the options updating and now all I can do is click on the option that doesn’t do anything.
