Looks like the issue was that the environment variable _JAVA_OPTIONS had been set previously to have some non standard options. Deleting the variable solved the problem.

Computer->Properies->Advanced System Settings->Environment Variables

Then hunt down and delete _JAVA_OPTIONS

This is not a bug. Music support was added, so that the code can actually play music. But the actual music (longer than the winning and losing jingles) has not been added just yet. We are working on it! :)

We are definitely planning an economy that the player can influence, whether through trade, piracy or pirate hunting or other activities.

However this system is actively under design at the moment so I cannot give you more details, because they will definitely change (things like how many commodities there will be).

Hi guys,

We definitely want to get on Steam, but it is far from a sure thing. The approval process is pretty stringent, so we cannot guarantee that we will end up on there.


But we will definitely try, once the game get closer to version 1.0.

Do not forget that character skills (not yet implemented) will raise the OP limit for hulls. For example a better engineer can fit more hull mods on a ship, more weapons, etc.

You can hit Control-H in your web browser to see your history. You should be able see where you downloaded the game there, and should be able to just click to install it from the same screen.

Having elite pilots makes a huge difference when it comes to fighters. Even Talons can hang on longer, because they are so incredibly good at shooting down missiles head for their fighters.

To try this, you must put fighter wings first in your fleet "order of battle" (the grid).

You can if you select the enemy ship through the war room after pressing tab, then hit "r" to target them. Now get out of the war room and press "z."

I'm also not aware of any downsides to exceeding the hangar bar. You might as well ignore it as far as I know.

I saw the 5000 range in the xml and was all like  :o

Yeeep. It definitely makes the "z" look at target functionality extremely useful, because if you do have a spotter of some kind you can fire from quite far away. And the AI has NO IDEA what hit it, shields are down, people are having drinks in the galley, and then BAM. BWEEAAAAAAW. And the screaming, and the yelling and oh my it hurts me.

I might as well ask this here, but how do i change my flagship from the default frigate? i cant find an option anywhere.

The first non fighter in the fleet grid (top to bottom left to right) is your flagship.
