Suggestions / More Common (D) Variants
« on: November 24, 2015, 03:03:58 AM »
The recent update has made the game feel much emptier, and more desolate. The sector really feels like it's a few disasters away from total collapse. I think another thing that would add to this effect would be making (D) ships the norm. I think you'd also have to have a wider array of bad modifiers available to help add character.

I get the feeling that most navies would be building new ships, and restoring old ones, but I don't think they'd be able to replace their losses without pressing some permanently damaged ships into service.
At the moment as far as I can tell the pirates are the only ones that really use the (D) variants, and I think this is a shame as I think they have a lot of potential.

The goal is for undamaged, well preserved ships to feel really special, the way I think a factory new Onslaught should feel. Some ships should feel seriously special.

General Discussion / I'm sorry Alex.
« on: September 29, 2013, 07:59:47 PM »
Hi, I would like to apologize on behalf of my fellow forum mates for being impatient about the 0.6 release.
I came to the conclusion that we had rushed you through our collective moaning, and I wanted to tell you how sorry I/we are.
This game is awesome. I spent ten dollars on it six months ago, and I've got tens of hours worth of gameplay out of it. It is fantastic. I don't think you hear this often enough. This update is huge, unprecedented, and receiving it made the wait worthwhile.

I want you to know that no matter how publicly we seem angry, we do really appreciate the hours you and your team put into this game, and we thank you for your commitment to it, and by extension, us.

Thank you for listening.

Suggestions / Harrying slower ships.
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:06:59 PM »
I was flying around in a Hyperion the other day and I found a fleet of freighter ships. Being a Hyperion I was far faster than them, but whenever I moved into engage, they wouldn't deploy ships, meaning in order to actually reach their ships, I would have to grind their CR down to zero. In a Hyperion, I had no chance.

As a ship many times as fast, you'd think I'd be able to catch them, instead of never fighting them, because they never deployed ships. What are your thoughts?

Suggestions / Weekly dev updates.
« on: August 13, 2013, 05:27:02 PM »
Now this is going to sound really really needy, mostly because it is, but I would like it if the developers made a quick little notation of what they had been working on each week. Nothing major, even just a sentence, "This week I worked on fuel consumption in hyperspace" for example.

It would be nice, for me at least to see the progress in a tangible way. This is probably no better than a "when is the next update due" question, so take it with a grain of salt.
Thanks.

Suggestions / Join a fleet.
« on: March 04, 2013, 04:12:56 AM »
I have been playing Starsector for quite a while now, and I think it would be interesting to be a part of a fleet that you do not control.

My reasoning behind this, is it would make it possible for someone (Namely myself) to focus on piloting my cool frigate, and wage massive battles while also not being responsible for the other ships in my fleet. I think it would be interesting for the Admiral of your fleet to be able to give you orders too. (recommendations really :P)

To me there is nothing worse than owning a big awesome brute of a fleet, then being confined to a capitol in order to remain competitive with other fleets.

I would be very interested to hear other peoples views.
