My second ship a tie defender.

I am curious how you make lines smooth.I am using gimp.

Suggestion for fighter balance. I have modded all fighters with a 50% speed increase. I find they are much more enjoyable to use as entire wings dont always die on the first pass to larger ships. They also have a good chance to make it back to carriers. Most likely a more balanced buff would be 30-40%. Anti fighter missiles may need to be adjusted.

Wasnt expecting such good feedback first time thanks guys  ;D. Ill see if I can mess around with the shading a bit.I guess your looking for lighter edges.Ill play around with wings too.I picked vaders tie so it doesnt look like a standard advance.

Had a new idea on this. What if the targeting reticules were a different color on either side of the ship. This would allow the player to always know which direction each strafing key would go. Player could easily keep track of which key does what when turning the ship.

Just to clarify I am not advocating for unlimited speeds. It was merely an illustration to show that not everything can make perfect sense when it comes to a game.Mostly I am for making things make reasonable sense while keeping or raising the fun factor  ;)

I mostly agree with what you guys are saying.I doubt that anyone is trying to clutter up the game with useless information.Just because you are use to the game being a certain way doesnt aaaaalways mean there isnt room for improvement here or there.

Suggestions / Re: Fleet Detachment (Travel Map)
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:17:48 AM »
I suggested something similar. Make the travel window have actual tactical decisions with your fleet. Certain frigs can be interceptors for the main fleet a certain distance from the main fleet. When you engage the battle the rest of your fleet is unavailable until they can arrive based on how far away they were when it started and their speed of course. Seems like this interface could open up more diversity and options in the travel window making you feel like you are actually commanding a fleet. Still would also like to see more realistic movements based on the ships you have in your fleet. Seems like all the pilots are drunk as is.

I tried to suggest some changes a bit ago to make piloting and strafing less frustrating so battles were more fun and fluid but for some reason peeps are hardcore about not changing the way it is. I suggested being able to toggle the little arrows that ships have in the tactical window for the actual battle. They give you your direction and the direction of thrust thats already programed in and noone liked it.
