Modding / Lost mod?
« on: June 11, 2014, 03:24:18 AM »
I was recently searching for an old mod (not that old actually). Obviously i can't remember the name of it nor of the creator and despite searching on the forum, i can't find a single clue about it.

It was a faction mod which featured blue/green boxy, extremely overpowered ships. All made with Battleship forever editor i think? It even had a rudimentary campaign integration with its own system.

Why i want to find this mod? I remember that one of the weapons was a black hole cannon that the creator asked to Lazywizard (i think) and i want to fiddle with that thing for some experimentation (one of which include screwing around in Starsector+ Arcade mod, naturally).

But not a single mention of this mod or its creator on the forum. Banned people still have their posts on the forum but not this guy. Hell, i can't even find my own comments about his work!

Any help?

Modding / Modded Faction tech-level
« on: January 01, 2014, 05:44:24 AM »
I was curious about where modded factions were situated in a tech-ladder with Vanilla factions so i made this. But first of all, this chart is strictly my personal point of view and was made depending of the lore of the faction, the playstyle and the kind of tech available. So nope, i definitely not claim it to be right, just wanted to post a fancy picture to open an eventual debate. There are only vanilla balanced faction, total conversion like Ironclad and Vacuum are not featured.

Outdated chart:

(And yes, i know TuP isn't exactly a faction. But it's just to give an idea for the tech-level for most of the Tore Up ships)

Edit: And when i say Tech-level, i'm not talking about faction strength during gameplay or lore-wise, naturally.

Bug Reports & Support / Engines can't be repaired
« on: November 28, 2013, 03:48:56 PM »
Happened during battle, a ship get its engine disabled and will not repair them, as such it will just drift around without being able to do anything. Rarely happened to me and the AI. I was playing with the Exigency mod when it happened, so i'm not sure if it come from either Starsector or the mod.

Not much to say, just a wallpaper in tribute to the superb modding community of Starsector.

Edit : new version

And here without the logo.

Admit it, that's a pretty awesome amount of badass ships eh? And no, before you ask, i didn't hide a Waldo in it.

If someone don't want to see his work on this wallpaper, just pm me and i'll remove it.

Modding / Some help to finish my mod
« on: July 28, 2013, 07:42:29 AM »
Ok i have been working for some time on some little mod of mine. Unfortunately it seems i am utterly incompetent when it come to coding. So i am asking for someone to help me finishing it.

Basically it's just a ship addon for the pirate faction. With something like 2 or 3 new fleets roaming the map. And of course the new ships available at the pirate station.

So here's the download link with what i have already done. I'll be grateful if someone can help me finishing this one.
