I played an earlier version a while ago, but I didn't know what I was doing. Looks pretty interesting, I might pledge. The art style and ship design are really nice, do you know if you can make your own ships?

So I tried to make my latest character into a karate master. Unfortunately, I did not put any points into my unarmed skill, and his karate skills were pretty terrible. He ended up dieing from a zombie horde while high on weed and caffeine.

Anyone else have any interesting stories to share?

Suggestions / Re: boarding takes time

Wow, I never really played a lot of X3, but that boarding sequence makes me want to really get into it. Even if it is just a few audio updates, it kinda reminds you that the marines are people, not just mindless robots. I personally like the idea of getting audio or even text updates form marines boarding a ship and possibly influencing the whole battle inside the ship.

Well, if you do stupid things, then you will probably die and nearly everything wants to kill you, even poppy flowers.I don't think that the RNG really affects you a whole lot, unless it spawns you close to a terrible location like a swamp or school. I mostly said "unforgiving" cause you can die very easily and it has a rather high learning curve and a few unique elements that take some getting used to (like bionics).

So I would say tough, yet rather fair.

Discussions / Cataclysm: DDA - Awesome Post-Apocalyptic Roguelike
« on: May 30, 2013, 06:51:52 PM »
Hey guys,

I recently started playing this and I have found it as extremely fun and unforgiving. The game is basically an open-world, post-apocalyptic survival roguelike.

Anyone else here play it? Here's the website if anyone is interested: http://www.cataclysmdda.com/

After a certain point, I start to not care about min/maxing cause the automation does a good job of it and I just focus on the big picture.

Huh, looks like Decer304 was right. The CoD engine is not completely new, but modified (once again).

EDIT: The level of brown in that screenshot is too damn high.

Well I wasn't going to necessarily pre-order, but the price is somewhat high, but no outrageous. I'm a little wary cause of how bad the Razer Edge turned out.

Hey guys,
Has anyone else been following this nifty device? The capabilities look pretty good and having Micro SD support is really nice. They just opened up pre-orders and I'm thinking of getting it. What do you guys think?

I thought that the COD Ghosts reveal was pretty damn funny. "Oh look, we have lean and slide! Look here, one of our characters is a dog who is probably going to die in a cut scene! We now have Crysis 1 level graphics!" The Xbone reveal wasn't much better. A fee for pre-owned games and Kinect has to be plugged in for it to work. I bet the Xbone is going to be slaughtered by the PS4.

Hey guys,
I've had Star Ruler for nearly a year now, but I have been getting back into it with the Galactic Armory mod. Does anyone else still play it or be interested in a multiplayer game? Also, does anyone know of similar games that are real time and have ship design? I've been watching Stardrive, but the performance issues in the end game have been holding me back.

I got it on Steam a couple of weeks ago, and I gotta say, it's a blast even with total strangers. I just don't like how expensive the cosmetics are.

I think that the ability of deploying fighters/bombers directly from carriers should be added. Otherwise, I mostly agree with your suggestions.

Maybe he is still working on it? Give him some time, I'd rather have a generally bug free and polished version than a rushed out one.
