So a couple of us still occasionally work with the Battleships Forever Shipmaker on its discord because of raw nostalgia. Over the past few three or so years I've made some things I'm quite proud of (most of them when I broke my hand and couldn't really do anything else), and I figured I'd post them here for you all. Feel free to make edits to these as you see fit. If you need me to remove glows or make simple alterations, feel free to shoot me a PM or reply here and I can do that pretty easily. I'll also give you the sb4's if you know how to use the Shipmaker, but I'm not sure many know how to work it these days.

There's lots in here.

(If you need BSF stuff I went on a tirade a while ago and made a full faction lineup of Starsector-sized ships you could absolutely use. I'd need to tweak them a bit, but if you want they are yours.)

After going on that RPG life,

Horse travelling that actually disincentives you to from using them.

Breath of the Wild is an absolutely amazing game and has the best, non-space, world design I've ever seen in a game, but man using a horse felt like a chore since it was only marginally faster and restricted your ability to explore.

On the other hand, Assassin's Creed Origins had one of the more intuitive systems and worked real well.

Hey all, long time, I know.

Anyways,

I started playing the game, modded of course, and get a fatal crash during the load screen.

My mod loadout is

Blackrock
Dassault-Mikoyan
Interstellar Imperium
Nexerelin
Outer Rim Alliance
Scy Nation
Shadowyards
Ship/Weapon Pack
Underworld
Graphicslib
Lazylib
Magiclib

Now the game works just fine when I load in just the libs, Blackrock, Ship/Weapon Pack, and Underworld, but adding anything in gets the same crash. Not sure what the root cause is.

Anyone seen it yet? I have and it gripped me and awed me in a way that is so rare to experience in theaters. Advertisements tried to push it as an action film, which it is not. It is slow paced and glorious while maintaining the same delightful spirit of the original all while providing a visual feast for its entirety.

I'd like to know your thoughts.

Maybe increase the contrast on the hull a tad? It looks a bit on the flat side right now.

Ha! This reminds me so much of my Battleship Forever days, were I build drones that spawned other drones until my CPU went to its knees.

Huh, I don't remember you from back in the heyday of BSF. Ah well, the nostalgia factor is real.

The lighting and general design looks great. However it could use a lot more greebles on the armor to match the SS art style. As of right now its ridiculously clean and smooth look looks rather...cartoony.

I mostly go with Megas on the volley gun. However, if I ever have a Desdinova, I will load that thing up with volley guns for maximum anti-shield lulz.

You could always keep the name and change the spelling to "skarab" since it's just an alliteration of a Greek word.

Potential names to replace the Scarab

Reduvius (the name of the assassin-bug family)
Horntail
Cicada
Tarantula-Hawk (AKA mini fallout Cazadores)
Wasp (eh, too generic)
Sphingidae (colloquially known as the hawk moth)
Leafwing

I personally like Tarantula-Hawk or Horntail. The name "Weevil" doesn't really capture the power that the frigate has.
