so ehh, about a month or so ago me and some people on the forum here tried out the terraria pumpkin moon event. it was really fun (despite REALLY laggy) and we ended up with all good loot. now terraria's christmas update is here and with it is a new event, the frost moon. and its even harder then the pumpkin moon it seems XD. so i would like to know if there are any people interested in trying to beat it? anyone can come, if you don't have good gear i can give you some.

here is some quick feedback, i have not played much of them yet (both missions and some refitting and simulation with the Eendracht).

when i had to attack the eendracht and his company the battleship seemed fairly weak but i think thats becouse the AI does not handle it very well and my ships easily killed off his escort first and then flanked him from all sides. then i went on to play the other mission.
i took the eendracht as my flagship and took the standard loadout (the patrol one) after sometime i discovered that his broadside was really powerfull, i just had to watch my flux level and lower my shield most of the time and then just let my guns fire away. the best thing is is that it doesn't seem to be that overpowered becouse your flux raises pretty fast if you use your shields too. i was able to semi solo a dominator (with the help of some fighters and frigates while he had support too). my fleet seemed to handle everything really well becouse i saw almost only enemy disabled and destroyed notifications. the battle with the onslaught was pretty epic and he damaged me and some destroyers pretty good, but in the end he destroyed only fighters and maybe some frigates. at the end of the battle i lost about 5 ships while he lost all. it was difficulty easy so you can expect that.

in the Eendracht refit screen i first solo'd an onslaught, it went pretty horible for me and i got anihilated, literally. but that was also expected becouse the onslaught is the king of solo battles. then i went on against a dominator and won and then i reffitted my ship with hephaestus assault guns and 2 hypervelocity cannons and removed the right heavy machine gun, removed a harpoon MRM and replaced the anihilator with a pillum. then i went out against an eagle and won pretty easily.

so all in all, i quite like this faction from what i've seen so far and think they have great potential.   :)

Atleast the zorg have a weakness, a pretty big one too. No shields makes full HE fleets a good counter

I really like the ships and lore in this mod!

Are these ships meant to be balanced vs vanilla? They are arguably overpowered if so. The cruisers have the hull strengths of capital ships and the capitals are ridiculously strong. That, and since their weapons are all energy based, there is no way to exhaust their ammo. Some of the overpowered ships have descriptions stating they have limited staying power on the field, but they win in every race to overload their flux capacity.

I feel the faction needs some sort of weakness that can be exploited. Perhaps CR limits on a number of them? Though, I am not a big fan of CR limits. Or switch some of their weapons to ammo based.

I second this. The rattlesnake seems to beat even the largest of capital ships

Meduim mortar could be really cool. Just give it half the damage and half de flux rate of the mauler and it could be one of my weapons of choice

I managed to farm up 20 Alien items to try for the hybrid ship but when i select the option the ship doesn't appear to appear any where, i farmed 20 more but same result. I re-loaded to see if there is a chance of a failure so you cant farm them too easily but the save wont load now so i'm unsure as to what happened. I'm running the newest version 6.6.1 as well.

Redownload the archive and try again. It might be so that not just Marauder fix didn`t get into it, but also the hybrid ships...

I downloaded the one where you said the marauder was reuploaded and i have the same problem too

Hi all,

Sorry for putting this here, but it seems silly to open a new thread for this.

Is anyone interested in having a go at the Pumpkin moon event tomorrow or this weekend?
I'm gunning for the trophies myself, but apparently they drop in wave 15, not before.
Ember and I got to wave 13. So we need some help. :D

I've got everything we need to make plenty of runs, as well as a Pit o' Doom, specifically designed for slaughtering everything but Pumpkings. ;)

If you haven't seen this event before, you need to be well equipped indeed, or you'll be mangled. :)

hmm i'm interested. i was looking to try the event too, but people are saying you need to be grouped or skilled to beat it. are you form europe?
