I just bought this game and I'm loving it, it's great fun to play with 64 bots. And fly around in a gunship blowing APCs to oblivion ;D.
So yeah awesome game, better than any of the Battlefield series IMO, also has an amazing community-made Starwars total conversion.

General Discussion / Is the bomber spam still viable?

I'm talking about this: , is it still possible? or have the bombers been changed since then. Because this fleet setup looks really fun.

Discussions / Starbound, sci-fi indie sandbox adventure.
« on: December 13, 2012, 03:32:49 PM »
I have been watching a game called Starbound for a long time. It is a 2D sidescrolling sandbox adventure game by the developer of Terraria. the player has a  space station, and  spaceship (both of which are customizable),  for traversing the galaxy, and beaming down to planets. The game will also feature randomly generated guns and melee weapons and randomly generated planets. And the feature I'm most excited for is the randomly generated creatures that inhabit planets, and the fact that you can take creatures back to your space station, and examine them or train them. The game has no official release date as of yet, but is rumored to be out this month or late January. ;D http://playstarbound.com/

Discussions / Eternal Silence
« on: December 04, 2012, 08:49:16 AM »
Eternal Silence is  HL2 mod, on Steam it is now free to play and standalone , so you do not need to own HL2 to play it. The mod focuses around space combat, but you can board the enemy ship or space station, like Starwars Battlefront 2. But no one plays it anymore, so Iwas wondering if anyone on here might like to play sometime?, it really very silent here...

Discussions / Your favorite indie games?
« on: November 29, 2012, 05:28:25 PM »
I bought Cortex Command a month ago and I still love it so much, in fact the only games i've played recently are Cortex Command and Starfarer, I love indie games, trying to play  the multi-million dollar shooters just feels drab and repetitive. So yeah... I just had to say how much I love indie games. ;D

SO I got Windows 7 running in Bootcamp on my Macbook, and I can run games that run with 4fps on lowest settings on Mac, but 60+FPS on Windows with highest settings ;D. But sometimes my Macbook overheats and shuts down, I tried cleaning the fans and everything, but I need something to cool it down, but I'm having trouble finding a cooler, lol can anyone here recommend me a good laptop cooler?.

Discussions / Ensign-1
« on: November 03, 2012, 07:26:21 PM »
There is an indie space game in development, it's called Ensign-1, it's a combination of FPS and a space shooter and still under development, it has a playable campaign and a sandboxy type multiplayer that has new features added very frequently. in the game you can walk around your fighter and capital ships and man turrets, all while fighting in FPS style, the graphics are unfinished but it's only 6 USD to buy the alpha and get the full game free. here is the indieDB page: http://www.indiedb.com/games/ensign-1. forgot to mention it's on Mac Windows and Linux. :)

General Discussion / You know you're addicted to Starfarer when _______
« on: October 03, 2012, 07:01:46 AM »
I will do the first one, you know you're addicted to Starfarer when you look in the house and there is no food, and you automatically think "out of supplies, procure more supplies or run the risk of an accident", and then run to the store  :P, not sure if this thread belongs here so feel free to move it.

Suggestions / new damage type: incendiary
« on: October 01, 2012, 10:13:25 PM »
I was thinking new damage type called "incendiary"could be added to the game, the projectiles from the weapon would hit exposed enemy hull, the section of the ship would then have some kind of "internal fire" effect and the ship could take minimal damage over time, along with flux buildup, venting flux would extinguish the fire. this effect would be very minimal on armor, and have completely no effect on shields, shields would only take damage from the projectile itself and the incendiary effect would not activate. the only problem is what the fire effect should look like, and how to get it to not cause FPS lag when there is alot of it at once.

General Discussion / So I bought Starfarer today....
« on: October 01, 2012, 06:01:09 PM »
And It's freakin amazing!, turns out it ran just fine on my old macbook (average 60 FPS even in large battles),
the combat feels familiar to freespace2, one of my most favorite games of all time, the graphics are awesome, and the gameplay is even better. but the best part is that it's still a alpha!, and if this is a alpha then I might fry my brain trying to fathom the final version :D, just wanted to say that this is an amazing game, keep up the good work ;D.

Suggestions / station fights
« on: August 26, 2012, 10:07:52 PM »
if this has not already been suggested, it would be cool if we could fly to a station, and in the station menu would be an option to attack the station, it would the be like normal combat mode except the station would be on the battlefield, it would have weapons and even some ships docked to it to give the impression that you caught them unaware, just a cool idea i had.
