Showing some pictures with a voice over should be easy enough right? Less of a hassle to create then a whole movie I think and easier to make it look pretty.

Something that gets you into the spirit of desperation that the people in the sector are going through.

Missile weapons are still visible even though you make their mount "HIDDEN".

Is this a bug or is this meant to be this way because of bombers?

Well I've finally been able to actually mod in a ship from scratch, so I might as well give this a try right?

WELCOME TO THE SHIPYARD!

Do you have a picture that's ready to be turned into a working Starfarer ship but you don't know how to do it yourself? Worry no longer!

Post it in this topic and I'll make it a working Mod for you.

Here's what I need you to do:
First of all, I'm going to need a picture that you have made and prepared to be modded into the game.
The picture of your ship must have a completely transparent border of at least 1 pixel, otherwise it may lead to complications.
Do not forget to add visible weapon mounts to your ship.
Do not forget to also tell me what the weapon mounts are in your post.
Please tell me what statistics you want your ship to have, for this you can fill out the form below if you want, if you don't fill in anything I'll just have to get creative myself.

SHIP STATISTICS:
I need to know the following things about your ship.
Spoiler
Name: Please give me the name of your ship.
Class: Please give me the class of your ship.
Size: The size category your ship belongs in (fighter,frigate,destroyer,cruiser,capital).
Fleet Points: Fleet points are used to bring your ship into battle and affect the size of your fleet.
Ordnance Points: You equip weapons and hull mods with these points.

Hit Points: If this number drops to 0 your ship blows up.
Armor: Higher armor provides better damage reduction.
Max Flux: The maximum flux capacity.
Flux Dissipation: The passive vent rate.

Max Speed: This does not include the bonuses from the Navigation Buoy and 0% flux.
Acceleration: How fast your ship gets to its max speed.
Deceleration: How fast your ship steps on the brakes.
Max Turn Rate: How fast your ship turns around.
Turn Acceleration: How fast you get to your maximum turn rate.

Mass: Greater mass means getting pushed around less. (also affects collision damage)

Shield Type: Possible options are No shield, Front shield or Omni shield.
Shield Arc: A number of degrees.
Shield Upkeep: % of your vent rate.
Shield Efficiency: Ratio of damage that is actually turned to flux.

Min crew: Minimum amount of crew needed to pilot your ship.
Max crew: Maximum amount of crew that can be taken with you.
Cargo: The cargo hold.
Fuel: The fuel tank.
Hangar: Amount of fleet points worth of Fighter Hangar Space.
Flight Decks: If you want the ship to have flight decks (between 1 to 3).

Base value: Monetary value of your ship.

You will also have to fill out some Variant file data.

Variant Name: What to call the variant.
Capacitors: Number of Capacitors.
Vents: Number of Vents.
HullMods: Name the hull modifications you want the ship to have.
The Weapons: A little more tricky, you can group your weapons in up to 5 groups, you can put each one on Autofire if you want, and say if the group is Linked or Alternates its firing weapons.

In case your ship is a Fighter Wing please also include the following

Formation: The formation your wing flies in. (V, Box, CLAW)
Number: The number of fighters in the wing. (1 to 6)
Role: What role the wing plays. (fighter, interceptor, assault, support,bomber)
Refit: Supply cost in battle. (I think)

This is all for free charity work of course which is why this will always be my lowest priority job.
I got enough other projects to work on, but I'll make time for this when I have any.
Ship Mods made in this way will be included in the list on the opening post and will be available to anyone.
Please only ask for a single ship to be made at a time (as in, one per person).

FINALLY!!! It's here, my beloved Tau Manta (thank you Okim!), and now everyone can play with it. If you wanted a super missile platform with the durability of a cruiser then you're in luck.

  • The Tau Manta (62.55KB): (vandala ID) !NEW!
    Ship Mod - Cruiser - Adds a Tau Manta inspired ship to your starting fleet. The picture of the ship was a gift from Okim.
    While no more durable then any other cruiser its the ship's missile mounts that makes it a very dangerous opponent.
