I don't know about you, but I love my blue space dong. A nice little middleground between a cruiser and a capital ship.

Any plans to update for the latest version? I have to admit I enjoy this mod incredibly much. The designs feels unique and I like the sprites.

For that matter, independents aren't supposed to be able to launch invasions.

The logbook doesn't go back enough for me to see the log entry, but I'm pretty confident I saw a Indie invasion fleet headed for a Templar controlled planet once.

I've noticed I have the same issue when using SS+ and a lot of faction mods. Guess it's all because of the way the economy works.

How much of this is actually intended?

I'm curious about this as well. I know that prices were increased, but I don't know what the minimum is. Would save a lot of restarting.

or aliens forcing you to turn on transponders

That's hilarious.

And once again, the mod mafia strikes. Several large mods updated at once.

Be afraid, everyone.

Be very afraid.

Have to say I really like your sprites; pretty much every ship has a unique shape which gives them a lot of personality.

I really like the capital ship sprites and the fighters, but many of the frigates and destroyers except the new freighters feels as if they're identical at first glance and in combat. I think it would be better if they were more asymmetrical and had more unique shapes.

Looks like something David did, which makes it fit the vanilla ship lineup.

Keep up the great work.

I get this message when using 0.83 with 0.7 Nexerelin.

I'm using the latest version of Starsector with the hotfix, RC10. I don't get this crash with any other mods alongside Nex.

A person asked me to make the mod playable again as he never got to beat the big ship. Only took me 9 hours of remaking and figuring out how systems works nowadays, for a game I haven't touched in 1½ years...

Now that's dedication.

So... uh, welcome back I guess.

It's a temporary, heavy-handed way of making sure you only align with one faction by the endgame. Looking at some ways to make it a bit less heavy-handed while accomplishing the same goal.

After a smuggling investigation by the independents my rep with them was lowered with -103 due to my high standing.

I was very sad afterwards.

Just want to mention that the music of the Luddic Church is awesome, especially for neutral and hostile encounters. Sounds like a monastic choir mixed with Mongolian throat singing :D

They definately have the best soundtrack. Hegemony sounds a bit cliché, and Tachyon is basically a five second loop which gets incredibly annoying when browsing the market or refitting.

I'd love to see a mission that hires you as a mercenary to follow around a fleet for a period of time and assist it in combat as necessary. You get to choose your battles, but bonus earnings are dependent on how much you did, and if you didn't do enough it will be considered failed.

Or be hired as a privateer, and receive a letter of marque. As of now it doesn't feel like you're part of a faction, it's more like you're kissing someones butt in order to get fancy ships and guns.

I would really love to see more mercenary or sellsword kind of content. Let's say that by doing certain feats like taking on a much bigger fleet than your own, you build a sort of global reputation, and factions will want to hire you to do jobs alá Shadowrun style. Basically being able to do work without tying yourself to a faction.

May I ask, did you play in Iron mode? Because, my experience was that I felt like this "no money worries" zone was approaching several times, but then every time a setback hit me and I was forced to rebuild my fleet, pay a major bribe or spent ridiculous amounts for repairs. Because of those setbacks (which probably had me reloading reloading if not for Iron mode) my progression of wealth, fleet and skills is reeeelatively balanced.

No, I generally don't like Iron Man playthroughs unless the game feels balanced around it. Darkest Dungeons for example is a game I enjoy a lot despite it being very roguelikish, but I feel that losing a character there, despite high level and skills, isn't as much of a setback compared to, say, XCOM, or in this case Starsector. If you lose your fleet you not only lose a humongous chunk of credits, but that's fine since money is relatively easy to come by, what's more importantly for me is that you now have to spend a equally humongous time in order to find the proper ships and weapons again. For me this is a incredibly boring chore.

Still, I am tempted to do a IM game. If you lose your fleet you can build a new better one, with other ships and other loadouts which is sort of a start of a whole new adventure.

Most likely among the first 10-20 players :)

Now that's a title if I ever heard one.

On topic however, I've reached a sort of problem now at endgame. I'm at level 43, have well over 2 million credits and a full fleet of destroyers and frigates (because good cruisers refuse to spawn, and getting good rep with a faction takes a awful long time), and I'm soon at Cooperative with both Tachyon and independents. This kind of leads me to a future semi-issue with income since I'm now hostile with every faction out there, and a lot of bounties that spawn are made by Hegemony who obviously refuse to pay for them. Trading is also much more difficult because every worthwhile planet out there belong a faction that is now hostile to me. Smuggling is still viable although I have leave more than half my fleet in order to stay hidden.

It would be really fun if you could add faction specific bounties, so when you reach 40 rep or something with a faction they will offer you assassination missions on their rivals, or perhaps delivery runs where you are given cargo/quest item to deliver to either a planet or fleet. Something that can give you a solid income once you have aligned to a group.

Also, ironically, we need a money sink. I have 2 freaking million credits, and have no idea what to spend it on. Cruisers? Don't need them, my lvl 20 officers have turned my Medusae and Hammerheads into death incarnate. Capital ships? Too slow, and I have several bombers on standby in case my opponents have one.

Other than that I'm having a absolute blast with the update. It has very much changed the game, and I can't wait to see what you're cooking up for the next one.
