Ugh. Was a problem before with another antivirus for a previous version, too. Could you possibly report it as a false positive, if that's an option?

Avast sends the file to their "lab" to analyze it. It's possible to run the program anyway, and I've already reported the file as legit.

I don't think I've ever anticipated any game release as much as I'm anticipating this upcoming starsector patch.

I'm checking the twitter on a almost hourly basis. Seriously, the hype is immense. Exploration, planet interaction, new REDACTED faction and ships and weapons, UI and QoL improvements across the board. It feels like this update is on par with the release of the campaign map.

@PCCL well, for one thing, it won't be aliens if I recall correctly. Alex said there wouldn't be any. So I guess DoM's experiments gone wrong.

Great blog post, was fun reading through it. A little roleplay adds that extra spark especially with the use of the *redacted* censorship.

I've been hyped since August last year and I don't think I can get any more hyped about this release.

Blog posts are the best posts. I'm really looking forward to the update, seems like this one is going to be massive.

The procedural systems are not, generally speaking, "controlled" by established factions. They mostly contain ruins to explore, dangers to brave, and rewards to reap. The civilized portion of the Sector has been largely reduced to the core worlds.

Does this mean that trading and missions will be largely be in the centre of the map, the core worlds, or will there be enough stuff generated outside of it?

Tri-Tachyon does not use high-tech exclusively like they did in the 0.5x days.

I kind of miss those days. Each faction felt entirely unique, as intended. I know that it fits the lore that every group use whatever ship they can get their hands on due to autofactories and such but it makes everyone feel so bland. Where's the fun fighting TT when Diktat has the exact same ships? Where's the fun joining a high-tech faction and expect cool lasers and blasters only to see the market is filled with low-or midtech ships?

It's the same with pirates. They don't have any ships unique to their group, they only use standard lowtech ships that you find all over the place couple with a few D variants. Fits the setting that Alex set up, yes, but also boring.

I'm not too concerned about potential balance issues since things can always be tweaked, and I have nothing against this rework. Always fun with new things.

What I am worried about however is the perfomance. If you get several carriers, each with several fighters, perfomance is going to drop like a brick.

After visiting a dozen planets, the only place that gives them in my game seems to be Freeport. Then again, I never visited any Hegemony or Diktat worlds, only modded factions and Tri Tachyon.

Speaking of Tachyon, is it possible to tweak their stations to only sell their ships? I get kind of bummed each time I go to one of their station and only 3 out of 10 ships they sell are actually part of their faction.
