If you have Nexerlin, there is also the high value prisoners that you can release at a faction's colony to increase your reputation by 4 or 8 points at a time.

But another far more efficient method with Nex is to gift them a colony, colonize some random planet, build some industries and stuff and maybe even add some gamma cores to increase the value, then gift it to the faction you want better relations with.

Ah yes, the revenge fleets. Of course, those are an obvious danger. Although personally I find that the bounty hunter fleets from Vayra sector are far more dangerous considering how big they are and how quickly you rack up high bounties.

How do they restrict your size?
You will get a notification and once you click on it you will have a choice screen (Similar to the Hegemony's AI inspection) there you can choose to either comply with their demands (and your colony won't grow past a certain size, along with a portion of your income being offered to the other faction as taxes) or you can refuse, lose a little bit of rep and soon afterwards get a bombardment fleet sent to your colony.

If you put a colony in the same system as a faction that is friendly with you (but not commissioned to or part of your alliance) they will demand taxes and restrict your colony to be size 4 or 5 (and of course will try to sat bomb you if you refuse, because of course warcrimes only count if it is you committing them), factions that are hostile to you will sat bomb your colony without asking. Factions that you are commissioned to or allied to you will not mind your colonies.

Additionally, colonizing a planet before a faction's colony fleet arrives doesn't have any penalties... I think at least...

Hey, I wanted to know how the "Special task group" fleets that randomly spawn work. (I hope it's this mod which adds them and I'm not being off topic) I once had an invasion headed to one of my colonies, but it was a weak fleet so I let my defenders do the work, however it suddenly succeeded and I noticed that one of those large special task group fleets came into my system to destroy my star fortress. So how do they work ? Do they wander around the world and then either escort one of their faction's fleets during an invasion or was I really really unlucky and they happened to randomly come to my system ?

Can we find all of the special hidden ships in a single campaign ? Or does only a single one ever spawn ? I've once randomly found the Unsung and it was glorious, the Hegemony was completely crushed by it, I hope I can find the others too.

Regarding their content, is there a use for sigma matter or datacores? If it's supposed to be a secret, just give a vague answer and I'll figure it out myself.
Not at the moment, but eventually there will be.
Speaking of which... what is the (black market) value of the various pieces of Sigma matter supposed to be, before being zeroed out in the latest version(s)?

I figure that I'd either edit the appropriate .csv files, else just sell them off then add the credits via Console Commands...
The previous values were 50000 for low grade, 100000 for medium grade and either 150000 or 500000 for high grade

About the gate quest balance...

Personally I'm for adding an extra challenge to the quest instead of nerfing Odysseus or his ship, you can't build those gates as soon as you're able to complete the quest anyways, so a mandatory fight won't be a bad way to gate the rewards from early game. Also Odysseus is a completely unique reward and I don't want to see him nerfed.

I've a question about the domain artifacts. If for example another faction has a Domain Archeology industry (for example Mayasura on Mairath) and I build a structure that requires Domain artifacts (with my own faction not having their own Archeology industry) does my own faction get supplied with the artifacts from trading ? Or will I have to find my own planet to mine for artifacts ?

As far as I'm aware, only factions that are vengeful towards the one getting bombarded will ignore the genocide you're committing. Personally I find saturation bombardment too much of a hassle since it is automatically a declaration of war to the entire sector. I prefer invading the colony instead and if I can't be bothered to take care of it I give it to a faction I want to raise relations with.
