For example I was hoping we'd see a hull mod that lets you turn a salvage rig into a mobile refitting bay, lowering the supply cost of refitting when not at a planet (maybe only for smaller size ships).

It would add the ability to respond to specific types of fleets by changing ship loadouts before combat. I can see myself investing in a salvage rig(or whatever) early game so that I can change my wolf missile slots to reapers if I am fighting a pirate fleet with a destroyer, salamanders for distracting a few ships to overcome 2-1 odds, or even harpoons to get rid of that one ship that I am very worried about. :o
Not to mention in the late game having a "siege" fleet loadout for taking on a [REDACTED] rather than flying back to base to outfitting your entire fleet and flying back later(or eating the cr/supply penalty, which never occurred to me until now...)

PS:
Can I borrow a lock of hair? I am totally not going to make a clone army of you and infiltrate every game company with said clones in order to make video games less shite.

PPS:
I love how you fix things like this even though nobody would have consciously noticed it being slightly un-fun. This is the reason why Starsector(formerly Starfarer) is my all time favorite game!
...I sure am glad I was messing around with modding FTL one day and came across only Starsector(formerly Starfarer) ship sprites, otherwise I would have never found this hidden gem.

Is there any chance of getting something that lets you map the top planets you have scanned? That way you could find the best place to set up with the closest and highest production planets for each resource within a reasonable distance. It would be useful for people who want to setup self sufficient colony groups.

P.S. When 0.8 first came out I spent 11 days on a save(it came out at the perfect time for me) and TL:DR I ended up with 50mil+ cr and had nothing to sink money into, please tell me these colonies can get really expensive for fun and profit.

also I had 5 apogees, I like apogees... don't judge.

Can I request a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. themed character with lines to suit my cheeki breeki needs?
I know I can change the lines in config, but I want the rest of the community to feel the cheeki breeki.

I want to see the ships and weapons from the mod factions and I would be fine with the star systems as well, but my computer isn't.
Is there any file or line of code I can remove/change to stop certain sectors from spawning?

You don't touch the Xss value, only the xms and xmx values
Also make sure that you are using a 64 bit system and a 64 bit java version. Also if you want to play with the Mayorate mod, you NEED java 8 as it was complied in 8

I fixed it, I just needed to get java 7 instead of 8(I am not using mayorate)

What do I do to the -Xss value?

I have tried playing around with the numbers to get it to work and it works up to the out of memory crash when if I leave them as is, but if I change them it doesn't launch.

You're forgetting the combat aptitude "skill" that officers can get as well, which make it NINE skills to max for a total of 36 levels and around 1.1 million EXP per captain

If you want to make it so your officers can get past level 20 then go to starsector-core\data\config and open settings.json, in line 215 you will find
   "officerMaxLevel":20,
changing this should let you get higher level officers. (if not then  ??? )
As it stands you can only get an officer up to level 20, which means you can only a max of 5 skills to level 10.
For every 4 additional levels you can get an extra 1 skill up to lvl 10, the most you would need if you want your officer to be able to get all perks to 10 should be 36(9 perks * 4 lvls to get to 10 per)

If you are worried about balancing it then you could always set the value of
   "officerSkillIncreasePerLevel":3,
to 1(it's the line above)

If, like me, you just got your first officer to level 20 and got very disappointed when you learned you can't do any more with them then this is for you, enjoy  ;)

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the lion's guard faction. I found the file in \starsector-core\data\world\factions and it doesn't show up in the factions tab due to the "showInIntelTab":false, in the file.
