General Discussion / Re: Expedition Fleet Sizes: Capital Skew
« on: June 04, 2019, 09:16:53 PM »
Late game Ideas =

I would like to see ways of locking down a system completely.

Some kind of global view of how strong a faction is, so these death balls they keep loseing to me over and over are hurting them in some way.

Some end game events, something like a dark and powerful enemy that starts killing everyone

Aliens, why does everyone have to be human? I am sure a lot of moders would love to see some of those cool ships become part of the game

Gates that become active, maybe even to new galaxies?

Add multiplayer without adding multiplayer...  When a player enters a "Wormhole" his fleet is copied to a server, and then added to a database to be randomly sent to other player's games as a hostile invasion force, or piratefleet.   (its an idea from the game "Reassembly") it works well, very interesting, as you never know what to expect.

Add an event that somehow takes the character into a coma, to wake up 100s of years later to find a lot of things has changed.  It would be funny finding some of your old ships floating around.

An Endgame deathstar/megaship you build as a goal, but you need to work hard to find all the tech to finish it, and its a large sink for materials.  Maybe something happens just before you finish it, and when we finally finish it somehow all of the factions have gotten stronger, or some big alien force has taken over, and then its your job to cleanse the galaxy with this thing.

The ability to level beyond 50.... because honestly, you MUST have certain things late game, like max officers and just about anything with Fleet in it, but its no fun to fly ships yourself because if you do yourself right for Late game, you can't get combat skills for just 1 ship, and still have profitable coloneis as well as not leaking supplies and sucking fuel.  Whats the harm in letting is have it all?

A way to order your taskforces to go deal with those bases and fleets outside of your system.

The other factions should have a downside to sending those expeditions... If I sneeze wrong on them they get mad and set me to hostile, yet they get to blob my system with fleets without a care in the world... thats just lore breaking.  How about a meter, that if they attack me too much, I am fully justified to glass their homeworld without anyone batting and eye at it.

Tier 4, 5, and 6 starbases?  Honestly when starbases first was teased I thought it was something that was so big it barley fit on the map, this would be cool.

Option to put Officers on Leave of Absence, without losing them.  (so you can scale back your expenses and do some exploring, while letting your planet grow among other things)

A ship that takes RAW something and produces Supplies or Fuel, maybe even a mining mechanic, harvest gas giants, or stars corona.  The idea of not having to rely on RNG gods in deep space to get more stuff you need to keep exploring.

A Capital Personnel ship.  Botanical Cruiser (from battlestar) maybe even it has cloning onboard? Grows food??

sorry for all the long list of ideas.

Computers have come a long way since this game was first a game.  Average Ram was like 2 or 3GB, and dual core was still the most common with hyper-threading.  Now 8GB is the Bare minimum (2019 16gb building now being minimum), 4 cores is the bare minimum, no-gamer in their right mind is building a system 2019 with 4 cores now.  Most gamers are well beyond that.  At this rate the game is in trouble of being dated before its potential is realized.

With such a good size modding community I guess I dont really understand why more of these features arn't into the game... seems there is a lot of willing and capable content creators, not even looking for a paycheck.

Wouldn't it be easier to just say...
"+1 to Fleet Base Burn rate"

And just let everything else make perfect sense?

General Discussion / Typo or Skill Bug? Navigation III

Here a clip of what it says word for word in the current version...

Navigation Level 3

+1 to Maximum Burn Level (Fleet)
Increases the Burn bonus of the "Sustained Burn Ability" by 1 (Fleet)

My Fleet's Current RAW Burn Rate = 8 (8 is my slowest ship)
My Fleet's Burn Rate while at normal speed with this skill = 9
My Fleets actual Sustained Burn Rate = 18

Does anyone else see the problem?

The first part of the skill works perfectly... However, I never get the burn bonus on the Sustained burn.   9 x 100% = 18 When in fact, if it was adding an additional burn point to the sustained burn, it should be = 19
8 + 1 for the first part = 9
Sustain burn 100% more = 18
1 extra burn speed for Sustained burn = 19  if one followed the math of what the skill states

Either the skill has a typo or bug?

General Discussion / Remnant - Recoverable?
« on: December 06, 2018, 02:15:51 AM »
Anyone done it?  I was killing fleets and so far nothing... sure would be nice.

I had no idea you could "resist" inspection

6
So I noticed a AI inspection fleet was headed to my base... but it was 46 days away... intel said the fleet was out matched by my forces, and my ground forces out matched it also...  so I figured no need to wait for it and it would be stopped by my defense...

MFW the fleet takes my cores, 1 alpha and 4 betas.... WTF??? they just walked in without a challange? that solarsystem is a hornets nest of my huge fleets, how did it get in??

« on: November 30, 2018, 01:45:01 AM »
they are my straight end game fleet right now... have 2 tritac carriers with dagger torp bombers, and the rest of my fleet is sporting Thunders... i just afk every battle, with all the other carriers just guarding the big 2 carriers....  and at the moment i actually dropped all my capitals... and I just have 10 condors and 4 Moras... the condors all have thunders, and the moras have 2 dagger torp bombers and one more thunder each.

beside that I just have this harbinger which I fly myself... omg thats OP... it can stealth... decloak, instantly disrupt (special abilty) anything its targeted (turning off shields) and I just fire my 3x 4k damage torps (10 shots) for almost guaranteed 10 kills of anything I want each engagement.

rounding off my fleet with just an Eagle fitted for range and a Apogee also range... and even this fleet is killing everything. with a few other supply ships, and a fast burn rate, with low supply use.

only fighter with 8000 range, from what I can tell so far... every other fighter/bomber in the game is 4000 range.

So basically you just get like a fleet with tons of these going...(like at least 10 light carriers 2x ea) and maybe a few bombers, and its good night everything.

They are stupid fast (450 base)... come with an Ion gun that stun locks/flameouts everything... AND have a Light machine gun for killing missiles and other fighters, AND a SRM launcher.

They go screaming across the map at anything you spot in a horde of death... they *** everything in sight pretty much.

all for only 8 OD points.

Feels OP when you mass them, though getting them may take some luck.

one of everything? ground defense only if need more stability... dump money into growth... pray to RNG gods?   pretty much what i've been doing.

There is a remnant base somewhere I am missing?

So there is no giant bug of doom hiding somewhere in the fringes for me to find and try to kill?  or lost planet that unlocks remnate tech?  or a Rainbow world somewhere full of ultra rich minerals?  Or a gas giant inhabited by gas people that sent probes all around the galaxy to explore space for them?  Or a race of people that enslave there own kind in the corner of the map, only to burn them for fuel during combat?  Or a race of Scottish noble pterodactyl people?  Or a race of energy sucking suicide people that lost their favorate toy?  Or a race of plant people? Or a planet of Rhinos that fly tiny fast ships?  Or maybe a planet of ruins that leads to the shocking discovery that its inhabitants opened a gateway to another dimension and some*thing* came thru and had *dinner* with them.  I feel like maybe there should be some way to activate those gates at least?

Ok... so I got the new update... its cool... dont get me wrong...

I did all the missions I could find...  I've done a lap around the outside of the map.. stoping here and there for distress signals, and following any leads I might have....

I got 7 pretty healthy settlements going... I have a fleet that can take down anything and everything I come up against without any losses.  (I once took on like 500 ships like it was nothing, all the fleets on the screen somehow combined against me in one huge megafight)

I can freely waltz into any system and completely crush any planet I want, tossing all the ships aside on my way.

I've found a mothership that was pretty cool, but I didn't get to salvage it, just blow it up... I've found a lot AI cores.

Remnate doesn't really seem to do anything... they had a cool battleship at the red planet but it blew up.

So... what do I do now? am I done?  is there more?

I mean is it possible to do something else?  Is there more secrets to be found out there?

we could all be living inside a black hole right now.

The space time differential should make that colony grow fast.

General Discussion / Re: Colony Expeditions are Unfair and Unfun
« on: November 29, 2018, 10:45:32 AM »
I dont know if this has been said, and this is already a long thread.... but my 2 cents on this whole issue...

Expeditions in general are just dumb.  Especially from allies. "The Hedgomeny has taken all your AI cores from X"  wtf?!?!?! (I proceeded to commit genocide to all their planets after that one)

We have no way of returning them, or doing the same thing back with our forces. Or really shutting them down. Or even profiting meaningfully when we crush them.

And if we start wiping out the planets sending them, we get hated on for killing planets by everyone.

I once killed every populated planet in a the core hedgemony system, even the independents (they hated me now anyway).  And fleets of a solo fuel frigate would still attack me to say "hey your transponder is off!" even though I had killed all the fleets and this guy's enter home planet, and all his friends... he is still flying up to me in his fueler, attacking me...

I feel like we should be able to lock systems down or something, or dispatch fleets to wage war, or tell those sons of *** that if they send one more fleet into our space we will bomb them back into the stone age!
