General Discussion / Re: How is your character leveling ?

I distribute my points on leadership and combat up to the point where I get ECCM Package. I got tired of playing frigate swarm/balanced fleets so I decided to try something different and now my fleet composition is basically a bunch of old era assault ships in the front lines backed by a few fighter/bomber wings and tons of support ships armed with Pilum Launchers. ECCM Package + tons of missiles flying around are a joy to watch. The enemy AI goes bananas. It's too much stuff for them to handle :)

From stern to bow.

2x graviton beams + burst pd laser + harpoon pods + harpoon mrm (group 3) + burst pd laser + 2x antimatter (group 2) + heavy blaster (group 1).

hullmod: flux coil adjunct

This is a fairly powerful and very flux effective loadout.

Plasma cannon is also a good choice but it will eat 30 OPs (Heavy Blaster costs only 12) and increase your flux generation by a good margin.

Ive seen Auroras at the tach station tons of times.

Im not sure if you have to buy the cruisers to make more cruisers spawn, but I would guess that is not the case :) Try buying some fighters and frigates and see if ships other classes will spawn :)

Gonna try this out right now! :)

(Unrelated off-topic note: just checked your yt channel and that Refit Rambling series is absolutely amazing :D)

315 marines is plenty.

Keep in mind that you can make the tritach station start refilling again buy buying some ships so new ones get space :) The tritach supply fleet need to arrive to deliver new ships :)

That's a really nice tip, Faiter :)

Do I have to buy a ship of the same hull size (in this case a cruiser) or buying a handful of small ships will do the trick?

(The Tri-Tachyon has 2 phase cruisers currently available for me)

Also, keep an eye out for any Pirate fleet with an Aurora at the end of the ship list. You can nab it easy, if it isn't sabotaged at the end of the battle, as those fleets rarely have the manpower to use the Aurora.

Thanks for the heads up, legion, I'll keep an eye out for it :)

@Gothars Thanks. I'm not trying any mod for now but it's good to know that this one exists just in case.

@Zenos I currently have 315 marines in stock. Is this enough or do I need more? (Sorry, I have no idea how the boarding mechanics works when it comes to numbers)

I don't see it available at the Tri-Tachyon station and every time I blow one up it never gives me the option to board it.
Can anyone help me?

Hello.

I'm seriously thinking about buying this game. Problem is: I have a really low-end laptop, and I'm not sure if it will be able to run this game.

Specs:

RAM: 4Gb
GPU: On board Intel HD Graphics
Intel Core i5 m480 2.67Ghz
OS: Widows 7 64bits

Can anyone tell if it is possible to run this game in such a (terrible) machine?

Thanks :)
