It will be quite fun and hectic, like three-four factions fighting each other and an allied fleed beamin in in the middle of the fight to help one of the faction. If it can be implemented, it could really add to the battles diversity and outcomes.

The missle dodging, especially with destroyers, is one of the things that make "epic" moments, at least for me. I remember dodging the projectiles from four MIRV's in a row once, while being between two enemy cruisers and suviving on like 1 HP, but winning the overall battle. (piloting some fast destroyer with a lot of small mounts, from the omega's minimash).

Yeah, the sliders are not good option for "achievements" in the classical meaning, like "Godlike", "Planet Buster", "Legendary Pirate" etc. What the slider is good for is providing alternative to this types of achievements. So when you reach the one end, you are not "rewarded" anything and yet you have achieved something.
For me a "medals" system, based on the character and offices will be the best alternative to "classic" achievements system.

Sliders are a great way for achievements, I just hate them. You can have multiple sliders as faction reputation for example and rewards or achievements as you progress further along them, works perfectly. I just don't care for achievements.

I do not care as well, what I care for is constructive ideas for Alex to read. And the campaign mode :D.

I'm pretty sure Alex was referring to this thread. Some good conversation going on there as well.

I don't see how the slider thing works in terms of achievements. the game recognizing a trend (which is what a slider does) can determine faction interactions and such other things, but it's kind of mean rewarding a player for being good/bad cause then they can't go the other direction to get the rewards from the other spectrum without extreme difficulty.

Cool achievements that do not nessesery break immersion are the slider type.
This is where you have slider with two opposing ends and depending of your actions your place in the slider changes. So for example slider for being bad ass pirate on the left and good law obeing mercenary on the right. When you hit the bad ass end, you know you have achieve complete "badass-ness", but if you later change your mind and reform yourself (betray the pirates?), you can move to the other side again. But yet again, that is not achievements system in classic shape.

Stats achive just that - they are stats. People that enjoy stats, enjoy them. People that do not care, do not care. They can not make me better player, but for me they add game immersion, they add "written history" of sorts to my ships. I cannot see why, if possible, they are not added to the game, no matter when.
So for example, what do engine trails achive, how do they make you play better? Or the beautiful backgrounds? Or new avatars? Or any other random non essential game elements.

I would be very happy if there are ship stats about: Ship kills (final blow), total damage dealt and received, most used weapon etc.
 If someone does not like them, thats what the "off" option might be for.
 Also for later periods when there are officers, different types of medals would be great as well. And I think that the titles and stats would further the game immersion, at least for all who like the roleplaying element.
It is just awesome to lose a ship with 100 victories to a ship with one fought battle....

I have uploaded three more ships. I think that for now my ships look too hand drawn.
If I manage to improve my style in time I will rework them. Otherwise I will make the whole set at that level.

Hi everyone.
I have been using the wonderful mods that are shared here since I bought the game one month ago.
Now I have decided to join the forum and by doing so I also want to post my attempts at sprites creation.
My ships do not have any mounts as I will not use them in a mod. If someone wants them, or part of them, feel free to grab/modify them.
For now the sprites might not look that good, as they are my first attempts in creating  graphics.
And I will try to create a faction theme and stick to it for every series of ships I make.
