look, i like starfarer (starsector), i really do. but its been in early access for over four years. i personally joined in early 2012 after it got some attention from a few youtubers.

the typical response is that its just one guy developing, but there are a lot of indie games that manage to release quicker than this.

there isint really anything i can do about it i guess i just want to vent disappointment that it is taking so long to see starsector become feature complete. this game is one of the reasons i dont support any form of early access anymore. its probably just like any other creative process, once you start showing it  and receiving hype (or the initial big sales) you lose more and move motivation to see it to the end.

I probably just don't have a proper counter built for them, but those little buggers have some awesome AI in them, every time I go into a fight with them, I know i am in for an interesting fight. they really know how to deliver the pain. its still really great out good the ai in this game is

i kept trying to figure out why playing this game felt so nostalgic, and i realized today, that the flux system works a lot like the energy system in subspace! a game i spent thousands of hours playing and loving back in the day!

anyone else play this game before?

General Discussion / the ai in this game is really good.

i just wanted to mention, that the ai in this game is surprisingly good. it never ceases to surprise me how its capable of pushing the advantage and pulling the pressure off its allies, all the while taking advantage of its enemies weaknesses.

in most space games like this i play, the ai will just barrel down on you and never stop, making them rather predictable and uninteresting. but that never happens in this game, making each fight feel more dynamic and rewarding.

Bug Reports & Support / all hegimony ships became hostile

i don't know what caused this, one min i was at the trade port buying/selling the next moment, all the hegemony ships are hostile. it happened once i undocked, unfortunately, i did not get the opportunity to reload my save because i had just saved a new weapons loadout for a ship i had captured. perhaps that had something to do with it?

General Discussion / income is somewhat slow

its possible that this will improve as more things to do in the sandbox mode releases, but currently its kind of a pain to gain the currency needed to build a fleet. and attrition is a real downer.

currently, money comes in so slowly, that if i was to have a difficult battle, i could loose days trying to rebuild a fleet.

even in a not so difficult battle, attrition seems to add up pretty quickly
