General Discussion / Are Black Holes too forgiving?

Vid related with some explanation in the description.
In short, one would expect black holes to be very dangerous with people wanting to avoid the center at all cost.
In reality they are so forgiving that being at the center has no additional effect and escaping a blackhole is childs play. No sense of danger, no skill required.
Would making them more skill based and more punishing only add hassle, or would some people appropriate the added tension?

General Discussion / Colony population management

Can we please get the option to either abandon colonies with higher population level, or enforce a strict non-immigration/non-breeding program?
Currently if I want to build a temporary colony to harvest tech, if the planet happens to be habitable, I need to break down the colony every once in a while because if the population grows to high, I wont be able to abandon it once it's usefulness runs out.

I feel the UI in certain menus is not utilizing the screenspace given to it.
Here is a picture of what I mean

I can forgive it on crew/cargo screen, but I definitely feel the need for it in command screen and even more so do I lament this in the intel screen.

Modding / Hemsmanship Zero flux 1% Bug

I recently wanted to check what the old zero flux boost on helmsmanship was. So I tried to read it form some game files and then decided to double check by launching an older installation of my game 0.7.2. Got my answer.
When I returned to my current installation of the game 0.9a RC10 apparently the value changed in the menu form 5% to 1%, I ran a simulation and used some weapons of varying flux requirements and it indeed seems to be the case.

So my question is why would the skills values change and how can I fix it back?
