Suggestions / Reputation with NPC commanders

So right now there is this useless reputation indicator with all NPC commanders. As of now you can increase your reputation with these individuals when you turn in a quest, help a friendly fleet in battle, donate free fuel to stranded fleets or turn in AI cores.

Well I purpose a few benifits for having a good reputation with individuals such as,

sell/purchase more from the black market at commanders base/planet without raising your suspicion level.

Allow you to apply for tax/tarrif exemptions at current port for a tiny/small/moderate amount depending on reputation.

Allow access to faction restricted items and ships on base/planet.

More missions at the mission board, perhaps if faction rep and individual rep is high enough, [REDACTED] missions?

Information, equivalent to a comms sniffer or better?

Higher rewards for destroying hostile ships near base/planet/fleet.

With the upcoming update, perhaps access to construction blueprints?

Option to burn reputation with an individual to avoid faction reputation penalties, say with the commander who just found you were smuggling drugs.

And that’s all I can think of off the top my by head right now, If you have any more suggestions please post them!

Also If any of these and other uses come to fruition, we may need more opportunities to improve relations, such as,

More dialog options, when meeting, where you can be kind, neutral or rude. From *** off pirates, to being gracious to your enemy.

Dialog option to Dine with commanders, at the cost of luxary food, products and or lobster.

Greater bonus for helping friendly fleets and reputation points with base commanders for destroying hostile ships near their base/world.

Frequent large volume trade with a planet/base (we currently have this with faction rep, but not individual rep)

With the upcoming update, individual rep  could be extended to things like turning in nano forges and other rare scavenged objects.


with this is you can add more depth and nuance to your early/mid game home port beyond just buying storage and improving faction rep. You can also invest time to improve trade with individual planets later in game when you’ve created your own faction. You can also bypass faction restrictions to a degree if you want to go solo, or have already joined another faction.

Come To think of it, reputation is also diplomacy, which is something quite logical to add after you’re able to create your own nation/faction.
