Discussions / Ridiculous Avery Brooks never had his own ds9 movie

I'm in the middle of a ds9 rewatch (season 4ish) and Captain Sisko is just such a compelling lead. What a waste that paramount never gave him a movie to chew through! The father-son relationship between Sisko and Jake is so affecting on screen, but as an officer he can play wrothful and coldly ruthless so effortlessly and magnetically. Agh what a good series.

General Discussion / Sweeping for Pather bases?
« on: December 27, 2018, 09:54:25 PM »
Hi everyone,

Hope everyone's chugging some good nog and only getting mildly sick from it.

I just wanted to ask if there was a particular rhyme or method for finding Pather bases. I'm trying a "New Old Maxios" run so the planets I'm shepherding are pretty close to the core, but I don't think proximity is any clue and I don't think there's an equivalent docking event to locate them like with pirate bases. I also think they do eventually pop up in the intel screen when the other factions post about them, but I was also hoping there might be a quicker way to drum them out.

Thanks!

Suggestions / docking
« on: December 16, 2017, 02:31:06 PM »
hey folks,

i think there could be a utility in formally allowing the player fleet to "dock" at a market in order to accelerate in-game time without hitting the usual hotkey for that action, even making it faster than normal.

before i make an expedition into the outer volume, i want to unload the food in my cargo so i wait in the orbit of gilead or new maxios for a shortage event to uh 'maximize my effective altruism'*. doing this now uses up supplies and requires i speed up time manually, which is fine for watching fleets skate across the system, but i'd like for there to be a more natural way to hastily idle. maybe make it cost a trivial, but noticeable amount of credits?

hope this makes sense!

*(definitely not in the same vein you sell ai cores to the unprosecuted war criminals in tri-tach because those credits develop your fleet's arsenal, which probably mitigates more suffering than funneling credits directly into the hands of struggling chicomoztoc urban farmers)

hi hey all,

a couple of months ago, i installed ubuntu in a fit of pique and i've been more or less fine with these new trappings i haven't even feigned comprehending. inevitable predicament being is that i've finally come against an issue i'm not content to instantly wither away from.

so: regarding the screen below, i flatly do not see a place to launch or install proper starsector on this computer. does it have anything to do with the terminal? i'm unable to just switch to windows. i would tremendously appreciate any support with this.

all the best !!
