Young Company
[/size]
Oh god I'm so lazy. I've planned this weeks ago, but I had nothing done. I'm more of a gamer than a modder. There's never-ending games piling up in my hard-drive and I just keep playing and playing >_<
This mod will be heavily influenced by a certain... thing I will reveal later on
Just not sure how title should be named.
Hopefully, by posting this thread will make me motivated and be
forced to continue the mod I've been dreaming of, literally.
It will be a story driven mod, and I'm looking for a collaboration to help me elaborate and (grammar-)fix the story, thanks in advance!
I have yet to make sprites, but it will be done soon hopefully!
On mission briefings I hope to write some (funny?) messages and actions, do read!
Changelog:2011-08-04 - Threads birth!
BackgroundHegemony only got stronger and warring got more tedious to the alliances. Even though many supported alliances economically, not many dared to risk their lives for independence, thus there just weren't enough pilots and crewmen to man the battleships. Every losing battles, Hegemony salvaged supplies and ships which could keep their experienced crews going further. As such, alliances forces diminished each battle came by. Their future didn't look bright and it would only take some cycles before the sector finally succumb to the Hegemony.
Young CompanyReports said an Hegemony patrol were close to his supply route. Captian Young sighed and made a detour. Battlefields were everchanging and the headquarters were too indecisive about logistic managements. One would say we lost the advantages due to these actions, other that we were just not suited to war. Many companions voiced their opinions to each other, but never to the higher-ups. It wasn't like the generals of the alliances were kinder than the Hegemony, they could be even more cruel, sending soldiers to all kind of skirmishes and battlefields. It's just that their ideology suited their tastes and dreams.
'We have no choice but to travel to the warp gates. Debris and myths will have to do the work this time. Going to planet Gala-Terra-09 might mark us in their radar', said Young as he pointed on the map to his lieutenant Slydner. When the warp gates stopped functioning, there were sayings that people mysteriously disappeared close to the gates, which contradicts the fact that people of older generations did stay watch, hoping it would be repaired by people of the other side.
Slydners face showed horror in a brief moment, but he calmed down and stayed quiet, nodded at Youngs words. Slydner and Young entered same academy and class. Slydners skills was actually superior to Young, but due to his timid nature his rank is lower than Young. Or rather, he ranked up due to Youngs recommendation. As Young saw his nod, he proceeded to give orders to the rest of his crews.
They have been given all kinds of missions, from participating in a battlefield to escorting a transport vessel, even piloting it themselves. And this is yet another order from the higher-ups to man up the freighter, escorted by two fighter wings and one frigate. That is all Captain Youngs new established company got. It certainly were cramped within the vessel.
At the warp gate there were sight of empty freighter, there were no movements nor activity since Youngs company entered its assumed sensor range. To their surprise it's condition were top-notch. They were no signs of it being in battle, except the marks of debris hitting its hull. Young sent in a boarding party to check the interior. Not a single life were aboard however he couldn't stay where he was when he heard the surprises through the communication.
'Is this... Gold?... Gold?...', was all Captain Young heard. He tried to make contact but none answered his call. They were completely mesmerized. He orded Slydner to stay on watch. Slydner spoke up now that he couldn't accept this conclusion and went on by himself, saying nothing else. Young stayed there dumbstruck. Of course, he had forgotten. Slydner wouldn't be able to give commands without stuttering. There were very few who would listen to him, lieutenant Ganard and second lieutenant Wilson, Hult and Drake. He and others were on the lookout.
Lieutenant Slydner arrived at the unknown freighter and slowly followed the boarding party through the inbuilt mini-radar on his suit. The floor was dimmed, but still manageable to see the surroundings. Dust were piling up, maybe an indication of how long this ship has been unattended. Still there were lack of information about this ship, Slydner thought looking at the ship log first, but the curiousness got hold of him. The location of his comrades were in the hangar. When he entered the hangar, his jaw dropped. He has never seen anything like this, nor ever thought engineering could ever complete this unthinkable feat. It was a... Golden humanoid robot.
'Prepare yourself! Enemy patrol is approaching us!', Young screamed through the comm nav.
