Modding / Spawn point help

So I have been fiddling with the star wars mod. Finally got the empire sb up and stocked with wings.There is a specific defense fleet I want to create with the sole purpose of guarding the station.Everything I do seem to not work.I have copied and pasted what others have done and from the tutorials with 0 success.I guess what I need is someone to show me exactly what I need to do to create a fleet and then have it always spawn at the station and stay there.

Suggestions / Balance Suggestion(fighters)

I modded in about a 50% top speed increase for all fighters and bombers and the balance feels really good for them.Maybe a 30-40 would be better.They survive much longer with the ability to make it back to a carrier for repair.The only thing is with small fleets or without equal fighters it can be difficult to run them down and finish off a squad. I do feel like this is an ok trade off tho. Some anti fighter missiles will have to be adjusted as well.

General Discussion / Do not understand combat speeds

Am I missing something.I go into combat and check our speeds.I have a 120+30 and he has a 117+3.I cannot control the pace of the battle at all.He can keep up with me no matter what I do(with flux).

Suggestions / Auto Resolve and Battle Suggestion

Seems like once I build a large fleet I can auto resolve alot and win with little damage.I think that auto resolve could maybe net you less weapons,exp,and creds then if you take command yourself.If this is already a feature maybe bump it up a bit.Just a bit more incentive to not autoresolve is all.

In the beginning and end of battles sometimes it would be nice to be able to speed up the game like in navigation.The beginning with caps can be awhile before you reach hostiles.Also towards the end when your cleaning up or waiting for them to retreat and dont wanna auto resolve.

Suggestions / Suggestion for Carriers

I like Carriers alot but feel like they are a bit lack luster. I think they would be significantly improved if they had the ability to repair disabled or destroyed wings after the battle.Say around 25-50% rate.Makes sense that they would have the ships and equipment to retrieve them from space and make extensive repairs.

These ideas could be due to the fact that carriers are loaded with the most advanced sensors and equipment for fighter support.Also they have crews working just to coordinate and support fighters.

Another Idea is they give some bonus during battle.Like a 25-50% speed bonus when they are returning/after launch to carriers.

Maybe carriers could give you more command points for giving orders to fighters or even unlimited amounts.

Carriers could extend partial shielding at the cost of flux to fighters within a certain range.

They could reduce the fleet points wings cost by 1 or 2.

Suggestions / A Tactical Display Suggestion

In big battles it can be hard to find my fighter squads.This makes micromanaging them difficult.I would like to suggest that in tactical maybe a small list of all ships on the field with there health bars along side that you can select them from.I do get the feeling that squads are disposable later in the game and maybe this isnt necessary.

BTW this game is already alot of fun and I think it will be one of my favs when its done.

I been capturing alot of ships since I maxed out my fleet and seems so easy to mod your ships once you acquire the player level. The problem is that they are free to install(besides ord slots) in every ship I buy or capture. They should cost cash to install once you get the tech for every ship.This would make loadouts more rewarding imo. Also maybe you can only refit mods at stations as well.

Another suggestion I was thinking to make ships more fun to mod is to have the ability to adjust the mods you install.For example if you install extended shields for 20 slots maybe it could have a max to min range.Say I want 30 degrees added so now it only costs 10 slots.I know for some mods this wouldnt be possible like blast doors but there are alot of mods that we could customize once we install them to our ships.Seems like this would make building ships more unique,interesting, and fun.

Suggestions / Strafing Directions

Would be nice if there was indicators(somewhere in the hud or on screen) as to the direction you are floating and the direction of applied trust is going.Its kinda of a real small thing because you can easily figure it out but in battle its easy to get turned around and sometimes its hard to see which way you are trying to strafe and breaks up the battle a bit.

Just a few small suggestions.

Sometimes some of my crew gets killed in a battle and I dont notice. Then I got into another battle and I cant even retreat and my ship dies.Would be nice if a permanent red message stating I dont have enough crew was fairly visible at all times.

Very annoying in battle when I lose sight of my ships and they die because I couldnt see them. Would be nice to have them in the hud and their status in a battle.

That brings me to viewing ranges.Some of the larger guns range requires you to zoom ahead to aim at maximum range in which case you cant see the ship your shooting from even.I think is almost needed to be able to zoom out to see your ship.

I Find it odd that ships can decelerate as fast as they can accelerate.Also they have same topspeed in reverse as forward. The engines on the back are usually massive where as the reverse engines barely seen. Maybe reverse speed should be half as well as deceleration?

Suggestions / Travel to Battle

I think it would better if you were in battle mode at all times.When navigating and you fly near an enemy you would just zoom in to battle and if you wanted to retreat you just flew far enough away. The system now kinda feels like you flying drunk when navigating and/or chasing fleets down. It doesnt seem to represent whatever ship you have actual maneuvering capabilities. I do think the current com and captains decision to engage or run or to hail enemies is cool way to initiate battle. I think mostly I dislike the drunkin navies who fly my ships.

Suggestions / Galaxy Creation

Just got the game and I think its gonna be great. I would like to suggest a random galaxy creation(with some placeholders for main systems) for better replayability. These games always suffer from once you play them you know the layout of the universe(escape velocity).
