I don't understand how the combat AI is supposed to work. I'm in a difficult spot with my Scythe here; for the third time in a row, I'm left alone in this combat, fending for myself, while my AI-piloted ships are basically doing nothing, keeping their distance. Their vectors indicate either nothing or maintaining distance from the enemy remnant ship. They are both piloted by aggressive commanders, and I manually asked them to engage the Remnant ship, yet they don't lend a hand and do nothing. Something is wrong. I guess that switching them to "Eliminate" will do the trick, but there is room for improvement here, unless there is a basic aspect I'm missing.

More generally, it feels like AIs don't factor in helping other ships in difficult spots.

What are the most prominent features and major changes for you, and are they moving in the right direction, or do you feel there are some balance issues?

What is noticeable from the start, and what requires several hours of game to perceive?

It's provocative on purpose, but again, in my new run, nothing beats, and by far, the gazillion credits you'll get from plundering unknown systems, black holes and such.
I reeeaaally question the balance here ...

Modding / Industries: Modding production & demand

Unless I need a new pair of glasses (which might be), I have not identified in the .CSV these values, for industries. Do I need some code editing for that? It would feel a bit weird, given it's static for a given industry.

General Discussion / Is there a Pirate-king playthrough?

I'm curious whether the base game or some mods cater to this, with specific quests. Or is it just a matter of being hostile with everyone except the pirates. Are there any special gameplay features, perhaps around Pirate stations you could set up yourself, or ordering mighty pirating raids, and such?

Modding / A mod providing more controls on the battlefield

Hi gents,
I'm in search of a mod that gives more possibilities on the battlefield, either additional commands or perhaps hullmods giving roles to ships (I know there was one, but it is years old).
And also a mod changing how the current orders and arrows are displayed, it's very difficult to read large battles.

It seems I can fulfill the needs of my colony by just dropping some trade goods (150 food, 150 organics), etc. What is confusing is that it's not consumed really, after one month or two. So how needs work exactly, because the wiki is a bit light on this. What does one need equals, in term of trade goods I deposit?

How can I get past negative growth in a 200% hazard colony? I just dropped it to have a storage space ...

How many colonies can I have?

What Escort is supposed to do exactly? I thought it would make some sort of battlegroups, where I can only order the main ship to do something and more or less the escortees would do the same, but it seems to be instead "we stay in your shadow, in the back and watch you do the job"... How to improve on that?

General Discussion / Differences in Salvage Gantries?

Is there any difference between two salvage gantries, if on different ships? Because it seems the Salvage Rig, given its cost, should be much more efficient than a Shepherd with a gantry, but I never tried, truth be told!

Something big, large transport capacity, but quite a decent weapon loadout, enough to deter a frigate and give a lot of trouble to a cruiser? A wayfarer on steroids probably (bigger and meaner)... From vanilla or mods? Or a converted pirate freighter?

General Discussion / Transponder ON in the midst of a battle?

This seems silly. The Hegemony is fighting over one of its worlds against the Hivers, a powerful hostile faction (it could be anyone really; it does not change the logic), and I'm trying not to get spotted too easily by the Hivers. If I switch my transponder off, a Hegemony picket will stop me, as this is against the law. Something is amiss here; the whole area is a battlefield! In an area where military operations are ongoing, you don't ask ships to keep broadcasting their position.

I'm intrigued by the money balancing in the game. Overall, it seems super easy to snowball rapidly. Get a few transports and then start moving trade goods around to rapidly rake in credits by the hundreds of thousands? This made me wonder why it has never been changed by Alex. Is it the desired result?

What I'm missing, are high-quality ships and weapons so expensive that even one million credits is basically nothing? Why haven't modders tried to change that? Probably because I'm seeing a problem where there is none?

So many questions. But then, if there is no problem, why are missions proposed to cross half the map for 80k?

General Discussion / Any possibility to control fleets at a distance?

I'm trying to move some fuel and supply ahead of my operations through the use of the "create detachment" button (IDK if that's from a mod though, I have Nexerelin and Industrial Revolution installed), but it seems limited to sending ships from your fleet to another location and then storing them. I also have the possibility from a mod (LOST_SECTOR mod and Kesteven Corp) to create a fleet but it seems unable to transport anything.

So I'm wondering if it exists the possibility to form a fleet, have it deliver goods to a place I own, and then return where I want. Any mod doing that?
