Modding / Mod Update Innitiative (Raising mods from the grave)

As many of you are aware I am the current modder for omega minimash, and the orignal creater of starfarer plus. I have noticed that many mods are very much out of date and are no longer supported. I will be atempting to make them compatible with new updates while not changing any acual content.

Blunty I am making compatibility patches for the mods.

As I am not aware of what mods are no longer compatible I wil be focusing on those that I feel are the most worth while, but if you have any segestions please state them.

Sigh... I hate to say this Alex, but we should just change the name entirely starsector just lacks something.

Modding / Music in starfarer (coding it in)

I am trying to figure out how to code music into the game using the corvus.java or something like that.

I cant seem to find any code releating to it. Is it even possible; if so how?

Ill start.

The planets move around the stars and the asteroids around the planets (and stars).

I know this is an odd thing but its just so rare to see something so.... immersive.

Description:

This mod is an attempt to expand upon the current game without changing the basic dynamics. There are 37 new ships, a few new weapons, new starting ships, and no new factions. It is still a beta and I will continue balancing ships as issues arise.

Please; do not be afraid to give suggestions this is supposed to be a vanilla friendly mod!

Installation

Extract plus folder from the zip into the mods folder (-/Fractal Softworks/Starfarer/mods/). Start the game, click "Mods" at the bottom of the launcher pop-up, and enable Starfarer Plus. Play the game!

Change Log

V 1.021
Balenced ships pricing and stats also changed starter ships.

V 1.02
Added 3 new ships and fixed the corvettes.

V 1.01
-Added 6 new ships.
-Balanced some old ships. It should be more vanilla friendly now.

FAQ

Is this mod compatible with Omega's Minimash?
-No Omega's Minimash already contains these ships or soon will.

Is this mod compatible with other mods?
-Yes; most. If incompatibility is found I will attempt to fix.

Will you be adding new ships?
-Yes as new sprites are made that fit the game style

Will you adding more weapons?
-Yes there are plenty of holes to fill.

Modding / Missile Launchers after launch.

I would like to suggest that there is an ability to modify the way a missile launcher looks after it fires its pay load. The reason being many of the LRM's look like you can see the missiles attached to the launchers. So after the launchers fire the missiles are no longer shown.

Suggestions / Faction error request.

This is just a request with errors in modding when I make a mistake with .faction files it does not tell me which file has the error. in the bellow case it was tritachyon that had the issue. (I missed a [ and had a 2 in its pace -_-)

Would it be possible for the future for the file to be specified in the log?

Modding / Making missions help.

I decided to make some missions for minimash but i need some help.

A few questions.

1.Can you make enemy ships not retreat?
2.Can you make ships show up after a certain amount of time?
3.How do you limit the amount of ships that can be there at once?
4.Can you control enemy behavior so they protect a objective and dont leave?

Suggestions / Random spawn points (With factions)

I was thinking of something that might be cool.

Ok you know how you start with a random starting ship? Well what if that starting ship affected what faction you started with.

IE:
Starting ship: Hound
Faction: Pirate

The other factions are automaticly hostile towards you but you are friendly with pirates.

Also could it be possible that with your starting faction you get bonuses with if you buy from them?

IE:
Starting Faction Pirates
Bonus's:
-10% off stuff boughten from them
-other pirates will be willing to join your fleet (for a price) (What i mean is that you find a small fleet in space and buy them)


Thoughts?

Bug Reports & Support / Two mods, different planets.json configs.

When you load two mods that have different world configs. EI: TimCORP and DeathSG minimash. The load order or how they load make it so one of them doesnt load.
