I have twice accidentally quit out of a great campaign run because I was a little too quick to leave a combat and hit "exit campaign" by accident when the "End combat" button has not emerged soon enough.

Why is that button even there? Seriously!

Please move it, or give a confirmation window... OR HEAVEN FORBID LET US GO RIGHT BACK IF WE LEAVE BY ACCIDENT!!!!

General Discussion / Massive problems with fleet deployment

So i went into a battle and found I could only field 100 points worth of ships, while the enemy fielded easily between 300-400 points of ships.

Why am I restricted to  two and four  vessels while the enemy can literally fill the map with ships? This problem has persisted with or without mods to boot.

I am reminded of ships from Colony Wars, the Siege cannon ships that were basically giant guns in space, or the huge ships from Macross that opened up into giant cannons.

We have something similar with the Onslaught and it's thermal pulse cannon, but I was wondering if we could see some ships, fragile smaller ships that have an extremely long range cannon (fired from the map screen) or a larger ship with a hard mounted weapon like a huge rail gun or laser.  Any thoughts?

Hey I just wanted to say that this game is shaping up to be AMAZING.

I have been here (for better or worse) since I think V6, but enough to remember when it was just the base constellation and not much else.

Watching this game grow into what it is currently has been one hell of a trip, and I can't wait to see what it becomes.

Suggestions / Monstrous pirate fleets, 200 fleet capacity in defense?

So I was on my way to my home system when a positively GIGANTIC number of pirate ships just spawned in front of me, like, 20 armadas. they all jump me, and now I am counting 30 ships or more in each battle against my fleet, where I get a lowly 200 fleet points to defend myself... Generally speaking, I don't see this as winnable, what gives?!

This is so cool! I found a water world---WITH A WATER WORLD MOON. This is great!!! What are the odds?! I have no idea how to get the seed code for this, but if you want this map (there are great worlds in this map too!) let me know how to get the seed code!

Suggestions / Artifacts where to find them

One very cool thing about the new release are unique pieces of technology you can find, or structures that can affect the outcome of a colony. I would love to see a quest to find a unique series of ships that are generally better then their class compatriots.


One thing I gotta ask though, PLEASE make it so cryo sleepers can either be moved to a nearby colony, or they spawn in systems that can actually be colonized (I had two games that had them spawn in completely barren systems, making them utterly useless.)

I am sharing this one, which was shared in a prior thread. It has two amazing colonizable worlds right next to the central constellation, and in the same area is a derelict Legion Battlecarrier XVI just waiting to be claimed by the player!

General Discussion / Making the Conquest great

Hey, so I love the conquest, what are your best setups that allow it to battle in a prolonged matter?

I have regular issues with things like the Onslaught and Conquest basically exploding from it's own flux generhaation. I would expect battlecruisers and battleships to have a large flux capacity instead of having the flux capacity of an ant.

General Discussion / Fighers and bombers...How do order them to attack?

I don't know if it's a quirk of the last update, but my fighters and bombers just hang around my carrier, and even if I order an attack on another ship, they just chill out around my carrier, and never move to attack unless I move physically close to an enemy target.

How do I get them to leave home and go do something with their miserable lives?

Hey folks. I am restarting this game after a long time away, after a little sandboxing I found I really enjoyed the changes (aside from the omission of autosave...)

Getting started this time, however, is proving to be much more difficult. I want to be a bounty hunter/scavanger of ancient tech, but bounties are always so far away, sometimes impossible to find, and the rewards are really subpar. Selling ships gets you pennies on the credit, and it is growing harder and harder to make basic upkeep.

How do you all get started so you don't drown in lack of credits?

Also, when you get colonies established, do they start generating credits for you?

Because it's really dumb, and shouldn't be left out.


Autosave. This game needs an autosave.


I had a paragraph explaining how every game for the last decade has had some form of autosave.

NOT having one is a design flaw that essentially ruins games like this.


Please fix this omission before I lose my cool.

Suggestions / Command orders not working

I have set waypoints and had my ships ordered to defend them, but every time (without fail), the ships fly off away from the designated point and usually get themselves horribly killed. can this be fixed or is it a 'feature'?
