General Discussion / Estimated Release Date (Broad)

So, I know this is probably a question you've heard about 30 times before, but I'm curious about how far along the game is. I don't need a specific release date, just a general window. Like, is this game likely to come out within the year? Or are we talking another 5 years minimum? The update number "0.9.1a" implies the former, but that's assuming 0.10 = 1.0 = release, it might not release until 0.18 for all I know. Also, when it releases, will it release on Steam, and will anyone who preordered be given a Steam key?
