Bug Reports & Support / Procurements and local storage question.
« on: February 17, 2020, 01:57:26 AM »
I may be loosing my mind here but it seems like if I store harvested organs or recreation drugs on the planet Umbra I no longer receive any procurements for either to that planet.

Are commodities that are stored on a planet or station(in a rented storage) counted towards the procurement algorithm in some way?

General Discussion / Burn level and engagements after some testing...
« on: November 07, 2019, 05:03:38 PM »
EDIT: Testing done and added as a reply... Sadly I cannot get my way and need to stick to hulls with burn level 12 capability or higher for the trade runs I want to do if I never want to engage in a pursuit battle.

This is driving me up the wall, what determines engagements and being able to avoid battle? I understand if your fleet is 40% or smaller you should be allowed to disengage but then there is this...

"Having at least one ship with equal or higher burn speeds allows forcing engagements on enemy fleets who can otherwise never fight if they don't want to"
https://starsector.fandom.com/wiki/Augmented_Drive_Field

If I have a single Buffalo with augmented drive field and military sub systems, an enemy fleet with a Pirate variant Falcon will be able to force an engagement. Both burn level 11.

Now my question is if I have the skill Navigation 3 will I have to option to disengage or will I be forced to fight? Having an additional burn level from the skill.

Also can an enemy fleet captain have Navigation 3 as well giving them a guaranteed shot at engagement?

What about having an Ox? Will that factor into the engagement and burn level rules here?

General Discussion / Where can I get a storm needler blueprint?

I have only found 2 storm needlers for my entire playthrough and I need more for science! Where can I get these bad boys? Try-tech markets?

Like the title says my creativity is really hampered if I cannot test against any ship I like. If I want to run 30 frigate against a randomly generated heavy ordo fleet I'll need to put it together myself and fly to a high danger area. This isn't too bad but man does it waste a lot of time.

High danger area? I'm talking min-maxed safety override command and control 3 coordinated maneuvers 3 full out kill em asap as many ships on field as possible. Frigates? Destroyers? Cruiser?

General Discussion / At what size do enemy fleets begin you run from you?
« on: October 21, 2019, 10:03:03 PM »
I mean when you reach a certain size fleets begin to avoid conflict with you but sometimes they will try to maintain contact as well.

Is it the inverse of the disengage limit? As in when your fleet recovery points are greater than 40% of the enemies and you can no longer disengage. Is that when smaller fleets begin to avoid you?

I am trying to do an ironman run where I do only trading. Ideally just civilian vessles like Cerberus and dram or Atlas and Prometheus.

Currently I have 28 Cerberus and 2 Dram and I plan to drop 3 Cerberus for 3 Atlas and 2 more Cerberus with the 2 Drams for 4 Prometheus. I believe I'll be able to disengage most combat with my recovery costs being 162 and 40% of that being 64.8.

The question is will I be forced into combat with smaller fleets that I outweigh? Or will the try to run from me initially?
