High faction rep grants the following:
  • You are stopped for black market trading less frequently IMO.
  • Assuming you use a story point per raid, you will be able to raid high rep factions more frequently before they become hostile to you.
  • Assuming transponder off and keep it off when stopped by faction fleets, you can attack and kill these fleets more often before owning factions become hostile.
  • You will be offered a commission.
  • If commissioned, you can buy military ships.
  • You can "pay off" inspections or raids with faction rep.

That is pretty much it in no particular order. Enjoy. In later patches, when the Orders, Command tab becomes operational, you will likely  be able to do special things with factions with which you have high faction rep.

you pretty much ignored every single post in this thread and the context of this topic as a whole

General Discussion / Re: Shipping disruption is ruining my system

If you loose too much by shipping disruptions, you need to remove the largest Pirate bases. Usually you will already know their locations due bounties. Another problem may be a commission and hostilities. If disruptions are already really hurting, you should avoid being commissioned and avoid getting factions hostile towards yours.

i have no commission and no hostile relations, i am on good terms with the pirates and neutral to pathers, everybody else is welcoming or higher
there is also currently no pirates raids or deep space pirate stations targeting my system
however there is pather activity on all of my colonies, but that only disrupts industries right?

I would be a nice feature to auto stockpile resources at a price, maybe an upgrade of the waystation...

yeah that would be awesome

You get to buy better things in military markets, most importantly at cooperative you get access to buying capitals from them(a rarity otherwise, because you need to either luck out on RNG to find a derelict one or a blueprint for one to use in Heavy industry)

again, commissions are a fair point but i mean relation on its own
lets say you are a "trader" and wanna be "friends" with everybody

i dont mind occasional hostilities, sabotage, betrayal or whatever but imo there should be some benefit to high relations outside of ranking up your "commission level" - since you can do that only with one faction and are basically a slave to whatever politics they have going on

The only way I found is to be hostile with literally everyone so no convoys ever come and have all demand met within one system.

hmmm, this is either brilliant or potentially savegame ruining  ;D

that works 100%?
and what about exports?
if you have free ports would hostile faction still buy *** from you?

General Discussion / Shipping disruption is ruining my system
« on: August 13, 2021, 05:10:52 PM »
every now and then i get "shipping disruption" malus on my planets - its ruining everything and i dunno what to do about it

the situation:
1 starsystem
4 colonies in it
i produce everything myself sufficiently (except drugs and organs)

what causes "shipping disruption" exactly - is it pirates? pathers? are my patrols too small? higher force? act of god?

its really annoying
1% less accessibility is nothing but having "-2" to 4 different commodities on every planet is a real pain

6
as i said - hazard pay should do the trick

cant say anything about your "no production" problem - never had that or head/read anything about it

big and juicy ships you can find on the blackmarket and sometimes even on the regular one, but only if you are lucky
you can get them easier if you get comissioned by a faction like the hegemony
every now and then you find one in deep space systems - usually pretty beaten up tho
or you find a blueprint (rare) in deep space systems and then build it yourself (you need heavy industry tho)

Bug Reports & Support / Missions through contacts dont work sometimes
« on: August 13, 2021, 03:11:42 PM »
sometimes when you accept a mission from a contact it is not possible to do that mission

there is nobody to speak to at the designated location
if the bug happens its instantly after you accepted the mission and it also doesnt show the "show on map" button in the accepted missions menu (screenshot)

i couldnt find any pattern so i dont know what causes this but it seems to be roughly 5-10% of all missions (from personal contacts)

i hope this helps  :)

edit
pic is tiny so i uploaded a bigger one to ImgBB

welcome!  :)

first of all when you dont have colonies producing the needed goods yourself these goods get imported automatically from outside your faction

unless "something" happens to the tradefleets - then you get shortages, which can hamper growth and exports

second, you need to cough up "harzard pay" to speed up your colony growth
the costs vary depending on the hazard rating of the planet
when your colony is at level 6 you cant do it anymore and it only grows "naturally" - on the plus side you dont have to do it anymore to avoid shrinking either (if your growth was negative before)

OR you make turn the colony into a free port (which ofc has some consequences)

both are buttons you can find directly under the % growth indicator (you can see the buttons on your screenshots)

accessibility also increases growth and so does upgrading your port into a mega port so thats worth thinking about in the future

It used to decrease the frequency of random inspections (which are no longer a thing) and made it less likely to get harassed after buying from the black market/running up suspicion there. I don't know if those things are still true.

maybe i got unlucky but ive been controlled for minimal blackmarket activity 3 times even tho i am friendly with the hegemony

10
More relations is just a bigger cushion to how long player can ignore expeditions or how many times he can stealth raid them for goodies before he needs to grind more rep back up.

yeah that seems to be the only practical difference

given the implication of a "cooperative relationship" or even just the flavortext in the game itself, that is rather disappointing

unless there is more subtle changes i am not aware of

11
You get better stuff in the military market, if you have a commission.

yeah you are right ofc, but i am talking about friendly and cooperative level relations and not commissions

which seem to be entirely pointless
it makes no real difference if you have 10 points or 100 points level relations

the only thing is that you can pay 25 relation points to avert an expedition
which is also kinda pointless because i only pay 5 points when i simply destroy them

12
i dont see the point in maintaining good relations to factions above favorable status
there seems to be no meaningful impact in the game

tarifs are the same
fast picket controls for blackmarket trade are the same
access to wares is unchainged
factions still send hostile expeditions
pather cells are the same
pirate raids are the same
hegemony controls are the same

am i wrong about this or missing something?

Bug Reports & Support / minor text issue

there is an error in the random missions
nothing dramatic but it pops up enough to be distracting

i marked it in this screenshot

opinions - i dont think bad RNG is interessting but if you enjoy loosing on a slot machine more power to you

15
thats pretty neat
but in a way its a very controlled enviroment
no chaotic flight patterns around the target
no inteference from trade fleets
no random scans

still neat tho

what i meant was kinda more refering to -> youre 1 hour into the game, random pirate mission says "drop there" and then the target location is 2 feet away from sindria

and compare that to another random pirate dead drop mission where you literally fly out 7 lightyears into nowhere, transponder on and everything, max speed with nobody around, EZPZ 2 minute cakewalk ... and get the same 70k as reward like you would in the other mission
