General Discussion / Re: BattleSize issue
« on: January 12, 2021, 06:33:44 AM »
Just leaving this quote from the archean order thread here:
Important:   However, "Archean Order" is a TOTAL CONVERSION and will NOT work with some mods due to its comprehensive editing of core files. Additionally, though faction mods are technically compatible, they are not balanced around Archean Order's combat balance and so use them at your own risk. Including mod factions might cause weird things to happen or imbalance Nex campaigns so results and experiences may vary. Feature mods and utility mods are generally ok and won't break the TC's balance.  If Archean Order is on the mod list and you are mod mixing and encounter a bug, please refrain from posting on any thread other than this one for bug reports. Even if the source is clearly another mod, the TC nature could be causing something unintended and you should not bother the mod author until I can verify I am not causing it. Thanks for reading this and have fun!

Mods / Re: [0.9.1a] Vayra's Sector 3.1.5 - seizing the means 2020-01-24

Vayra's Sector adds a few colonial competitors to the game (communist clouds being one of them), if you don't want them open the VARYA_SETTINGS.ini in Varya's Sector modfolder and set the setting "spawnColonialCompetitors" to false and start a new game. There are also some other settings for them if you just want to tweak them a bit.

I always sort by distance, so planets in the same system are grouped together which makes it easy to appraise the systems as a whole.

I would recommend giving this wiki article a read: https://starsector.fandom.com/wiki/AI_Behaviour

Well they are kind of doing that. You can destroy their expedition without open war being declared but their goal was to disrupt your industry, they couldn't achieve that and so they are a little annoyed and you get that small rep hit.

EDIT: Just view it like this from their perspective: You are a big evil cooperation and there is this small guy that helped you so you like him. But recently he opened up his own buisness and is cutting a bit too much into your profits. So instead of just going over and killing everybody you send some of your underlings to smash that guys buisness up a bit so he wont be able to compete for some time. But then your underlings fail, so you are annoyed that he is still cutting into your profits and as a result like him a little less than before.

General Discussion / Re: Vanilla - Clear Down Intel Exploration Data
« on: September 08, 2019, 06:58:49 AM »
I just saw this earlier today in the mod updates channel in the discord:

Captain's Log 0.0.1 DISCORD BETA

A helper mod to reduce manual note-taking.

Features:
- adds intel entries for discovered cryosleepers and salvageables (e.g. derelict ships, derelict probes, equipment caches, derelict stations)
- adds intel entries for all surveyed planets with unsearched ruins
- deletes some fleet log entries that otherwise can never be removed
- add custom log messages (requires the console commands mod; write CaptainsLog [message] in the console)
- console commands for adding vanilla-style randomly generated stable points to current star system

So join the discord and try that?
Here is an invite to the discord: https://discord.gg/TBhcFNh

You can actually see how the shrike hit the asteroid:
He deploys his fleet, there is an asteroid at between 10 and 11 o'clock ahead of the shrike, he sets the defend order and the shrike angles itself towards it and activates its boost.
It hits the asteroid during the boost, flames out and but because the flameout happened during the boost it has a lot of momentum and doesn't slow down, tumbling towards the enemy at high speed.
