I have an eye condition that unfortunately means most of the added backgrounds are too bright, thanks for the instructions.

I love what this mod does, but I've got a problem where some of the backgrounds that have been added are too bright for me. I can't properly make out what's happening on the exploration map and its worse in combat.

Is there any way to disable them while keeping the rest of the mod intact?

Thanks for the reply, I was holding off on the ops center but I'll pick it up soon as I can now.

That's good, I wanted to keep the D-mods I still have since the deploy cost is 7 right now, so I can just deploy this massive thing whenever I want.

I'm doing a The Infernal Machine start and really enjoying it, I don't generally use pirate tech capitals or d-mod ships so its a very nice change of pace.

I saw there's meant to be a branching upgrade path, when does that unlock? I've done everything except clear all the d-mods and add the operation center and I don't see anymore options.

The Codex will list it as CR PER fighter deployed, so if it says 10% and your wing has 4 in it, it'll take 40% off.

Is the intension to make them very expensive to deploy and to then force either a long downtime or running back to a friendly planet base?

When I take the fighter wings into battle I end up losing about 40% cr on them, despite the tool tip saying it only costs them 10% per deployment. Is this down to the fact that I don't have a carrier for them? If that is the reason, it charply limits thier usability, and thus the faction as a whole, when you are just starting out.

Have it scale on the size of the detected fleet. If its a really small fleet they should probably ignore it, since its not worth the hassle and the merchents should be able to defend themselves.

I understand this system is only meant to be a place holder, but if you've got the missions in place why not have the investigating faction give you a mission to prove your alliegence, like attack one of other factions fleets within X time or else you get the reputation hit?

The point I'm getting at is that using your transponder is gamey and in no way made clear as the intended method of reducing reutation without attacking someone.

Except the way its intended to be used to lower reputation you're doing it in full sight of that nations military, in fact the only reliable way to lower reputation that way is to do it right in front of a detachment or patrol.

To modify my original analogy, the way Alex intends the switched off transponder to be used is like if I illegally parked a tank I am legally allowed to own stuffed with guns and ammunition I am allowed to own directly opposite a police station, and used this as a way to *** them off on purpose.  Sure they'll be angry and question me of my intent and search my vehicle, but that’s hardly a way to reassure a rival nation of my allegiance to them.

A secondary problem is that factions treat you having your transponder off the same no matter where you are. Switching it off within sight of a planet or starbase should lead to being questioned and maybe fined, being found with your transponder off near a trade lane or within a known ambush area should lead to the reputation damage and a far heavier fine or worse.

Using the transponder to lower your rep on purpose (And this bieng intended on alex's part) is incredibly gamey and makes no sense within the game world.

If in real life you had a person who was friendly with two nations who were otherwise in a cold war with each other, the person wouldn't use what amounts to parking and moving violations to declare he is only wants to be friends with nation A and not nation B.
