Thank you both. I guess I can ease up a bit and not worry. Hopefully  ;)

General Discussion / Any way to disable the Path faction from a game?
« on: January 23, 2021, 09:57:42 AM »
That something Path faction is just too much. They've begun a presence in my system. I've tried going there so I can try to destroy their base but i can't get close. They have a massive fleet that wipes me every single time. The fleet is just insane. You could cut it in half and it would still wipe me. Is there some way to hire someone else's fleet to deal with them?

Heck, i just want to disable them completely. I have a hard enough time dealing with all the other things going on. I haven't been able to do any exploring to try and find more ruins so I can continue to build up.

Are there any cheat codes that let me destroy a fleet?

Right now i feel like I'm on a timer... and time is running out.

I'm about ready to quit playing again and go play something else.

If i store most of my ships will the other fleets in the galaxy get smaller also? Every time i get bigger the other fleets do too. Which is why i feel I'm on a timer I guess.

General Discussion / Quick Transfer of items
« on: January 20, 2021, 01:54:31 AM »
This post is mostly to help me remember. But hopefully others will find it useful too. I'll play a game for a while sometimes. But I can be distracted by new game releases and such. Then it can be a while before i come back to a game I like to play. This time I've gotten a new computer so I had to reinstall Starsector. Hell, I also completely forgot about it for a bit. But i read a comment on youtube and it reminded me.
When playing the game, after a while, it can become a bit tedious transferring items from one storage container to another. Even selling items can get tedious. So I tried to find a way to speed it up. In many apps, and even in a lot of games, devs have added such QoL features. Starsector also has such a QoL feature. But it's hidden and you can't change it by going to Options or anything... uh, that I know of anyway. But it can be done.

:tldr:

Go to:
\Starsector\starsector-core\data\config\settings.json
and change:
"altMouseMoveToMassTransfer":false,
to:
"altMouseMoveToMassTransfer":true,

That's it. Now you just hold Alt in game and point at something in an inventory to move or sell it.  8)

I read Marines were used to cap ships prior to .8(?). What use are they now? Can i add them to my colony to make it more secure or something?

Thank you, to you both. Found the 'Button', but, once there I can see what he can do lvl3 industrial something. I'll keep him around for a bit.

Is there a way to fire Admins?

I got one from some pod or something but I don't have any colonies. So he's sucking up a paycheck for doing nothing but looking up galactic porn.

General Discussion / Re: Colony cap

I know this is a little old now. But I have some questions relevant to this.

From skills it looks like our cap is 7. We can manage up to 4 ourselves with the 'Colony Management'x3 skill. That also gives us up to 3 admins for a total of 7. So my questions are

1) Do Waystations still work to remove 1 colony from our cap?
1a) If it removes 1 from our cap how many waystations can we have?
2) Which is the better tasting, sherbert or vanilla ice cream?

General Discussion / Colony info?

Under Colony Info on the right. If you hover your mouse over supplies, or something else, you'll see a bunch of useful info. What does it mean by 'Maximum Demand: 2'

General Discussion / Importing...?
« on: November 25, 2018, 05:40:29 PM »
Is there any detailed info about importing exporting?

Specifically I just built a colony on a planet that has no farmland. So I apparently have to haul food there manually. But from my last play through I remember getting information about imports. So I'm wondering if my colony will import it's own food since it knows it can't produce it. Also, considering this I'd like to know what does get imported and why?

WOW, I must really really suck at this game. I don't find it easy at all. lol

But as to the issue of early-mid game bounties. I rarely, and I mean rarely, see bounties under 150k and those fleets are over 2 times stronger than me. They usually wipe me when I still haven't taken out even half of theirs. I wish I could find some 50-100k bounties.

As for colonies, how the hell are you all getting rich off of them? lol I mean, at one point I seen my expected income go up to about 60-70k. I got 1 month of that and used the money to build a tech mining structure. Then the Persean League came and jacked me up because of the tech miner and I was suddenly running in the red. Running several system bounties where you get 1400 per frigate allowed me to build a few more structures. But the upkeep was killing me. I noticed I could use cores in my buildings and that has helped, a lot actually. But I can't seem to find any more beta cores(for the 50% markdown of upkeep). Now I have pirates, the perseans, the ludic path and one other hitting my colony. ROFLMAO(<--hysteria)... Anyways, my colony is NOT making me any money. I'm sitting at about -10k per month right now. So how are you getting rich? I cannot fight off the fleets they at me. They appear to be about the same level as 170k bounties and I seem to be stuck with frigates. Otherwise I cant outrun the fleets out to get me.

I'm thinking I need to build another colony but avoid building the things these guys are hitting hard. Thats the refinery and tech miners as far as I can tell so far.

I do have a few ships better than frigates. But they're in storage at my colony, because I can't afford the fuel and supplies to use them all the time.

Anyway, @Dev please be gentle with the Balancing... lol
